I was minding my own business, when something caught my eye.
I went closer to see what it was, and..................................:scared1: S C R E A M !!!! a snake!!!
Well, I knew what to do. I screamed my DH's name, and jumped up onto the dinning table. My husband corners it with a broom, and tells me to find something tupperware with a lid. Excuse me, my tupperware? I think not, a plastic Folgers can with lid will have to do. DH tells me it must have come in when someone opened the door. I read another thread about a mouse, I will trade!!!

OMG!!!!!!!!:scared1:

I am deathly afraid of them. If that happened to me, i would be trying to convince Dh we needed to move.::yes::

Snakes are great spiders on the other hand I can't help but avoid them.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. I'm not afraid of snakes (I love reptiles) but I do have my fears...spiders, ants, and certain other insects...so I totally know how rotten it feels when something uninvited and nasty shows up in your home! ::yes::

It wasn't venomous...was it? Now THAT would scare me! Eeeek!

Now that your house has been contaminated you are planning on moving aren't you?

Deidre,
You are right down the road from me. We once found a baby snake (looked like a big worm) in our kitchen, and yes we have moved since!

WE GOT HIM!!!

Update to let everyone know that I survived the snake house last night. DH says that the snake was not venomous, and that it was a Juvenile Rat Snake. He definitely will NOT CONSIDER moving since our house is paid for. He confessed to leaving the back door open for a few minutes while I was gone, thus probably inviting our "friend", to spend the night. He assures me it was just a "baby". I assured him that if any more babies are found in our house, I am moving home to mother!!! LOL

Two other people at school this AM also had snake encounters yesterday. An elderly lady was gardening, and bit by a copperhead. Also, an aide at our school found a rattle snake in her backyard. I guess I will stop complaining, and be happy that I just had my "little juvenile friend".

I can't believe that I even opened this thread. I have a terrible phobia about s-words. Can't even look at a photo without hyperventilating. If there was one in my house, I would have to be medicated!

I would have left the house. I am TERRIFIED of snakes. When my nephew was younger, they lived with us. His dad comes walking in one night with a small bowl and foil on the lid. I asked him what was in there. He said a friend of his gave my nephew a rat snake for a pet and it was harmless. I told him to get the snake out of my house. So he put it in his car. Well the next morning he leaves for work and guess what had escaped from the bowl. Yep, the snake. After that I refused to ride in the car.

My mom is exactly like Katholyn! She can't even see snakes on television! :earseek:

I wouldn't mind the snake, unless it was venemous, then I'd want to move too. Buh bye!

Oooh Belle! We are having the year of the gigantic spiders around here! They are so big, and make huge, strong, stronger than silk threads, spider webs, that even my big, man neighbor is afraid of them! :earseek:

If I had a snake in my house, I'm not sure I could ever sleep there again. I would constantly think there was a snake moving somewhere. My son wants a snake as a pet when he moves out and I am just too freaked out to even think about it!
