Snake Bite at Disney Resort

On our last trip to AKL we saw a small pygmee rattler near the pool going toward the door. In May at Pop we saw a coral snake. Last night in my hospital I work there was a cotton mouth in the building!

He said they were "protected" in FL.
Naw. Unless you are in a National Park, the only protected snake in Florida is the Indigo Snake, which is an endangered species. Everything is protected in National Parks.

Someone should tell the snakes - Can't you just see it?

Moses, the snake, leading his people to the promised land. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

And that is why I never get a ground floor room again!
When we were at SSR I opened the drapes one morning to find a big black snake sunning itself right outside the window! Scared the ---- out of me!

Actually, the insurance companies set "usual and customary" prices in contracts with providers. Sometimes, reimbursement doesn't even cover the costs.:scared1:
Usually, this practice is for the hospitals/providers to write off on their cost reports. They never expect to get paid what they bill.

Providers know "beforehand" what the reimbursement will be. The patient is not responsible for any of the discounted amounted. You are correct, providers know they will receive a reduced reimbursemnt.

This is definately the thread my husband did not want me to find. I am deathly TERRIFIED of snakes and now very uneasy about our next trip in Oct.

OMG I will keep my DH away from this thread ! He saw a grass snake while we were walking to DTD and he shot over the little bridge from SSR faster then I have ever seen him move. He is scared to death of snakes! He SHOVED me out of the way as he was running and did NOT look back . I was on the cell phone with our DD who was having labor pains and she had to ask me what in the world the screaming was LOL He was screaming like a 4 yr old girl .

LOL I called everyone on his shift at the Firehouse to tell them :rotfl2:

I agree that I have never even thought about 'wildlife' in FL other than gators. DH and DS often mess around in the bushes and grass by the bus stops. I am definately going to mention it! :scared1:

Not that you should not be careful, but bus stops as well as most areas where people gather are pretty safe. Snakes and other critters like us even less than we like them. Just give them their space, stay in the well traveled areas, don't put body parts in places you can't see, and you should be fine. There is of course always the exception where you do everything right and get bit anyway, some animals just don't know the rules:confused3
