SNACKS ADDED!!! I eat with my eyes first, and Pandora food is just too . . .

@wilkeliza Thanks. You answered my question perfectly. So simply put, the food is not chilled and it's not like a salad.

I certainly want to try it then.

@Planogirl Is there seating in the Harambe Market?
Yes, there are tables and chairs and at least many of the tables have umbrellas. We get there when it opens for lunch when it's quiet and it seems to be pretty full by noon.

Yeah not chilled and unless you get the greens as your base it def is not like a salad. The bowls are really popular where I live so kind of use to them. Thankfully Disney did them right.

I hate to be a baby and ask, but are there aggressive birds there? I'm afraid to try Flametree for that reason, but I'd like to give Harambe a shot if there aren't too many feathered beggars.

I've seen so many people feeding the birds at AK (and encouraging their children to feed them). It seems some of the birds have lost all fear of humans. If aggressive birds aren't at this particular location just yet, I don't imagine it will take them very long. I once told a group of people that feeding the birds wasn't allowed, and I was reminded very firmly that "This is Disney."

Even when CMs tell people not to feed the animals they don't listen. It is a big problem on property. Heck some of the ducks in Epcot are so fat they can't fly any more. The squirrels also have become super aggressive. The most disgusting part is when I see people feed birds turkey leg meat.

I never saw any of that at Harambe but it certainly could have started by now. I agree with the others that people feeding the birds is a big problem all over WDW.

And you're not being a baby. :)

I also didn't notice the birds in my beloved Harambe as compared to other areas. We did eat at FlameTree and saw - but weren't bothered by - the birds there. I truly believe some folks think the birds are "part of the show" at WDW, hence the feeding.

GOSH - I just saw the new posting over at Disney Food Blog. The SNACKS!! Oh my, they are really weird (but I'm sure they were going for fun). Blue, blue and more blue, but then . . . VIEN PODS! hahaha

I could be wrong (it happens on occasion) but I think some of these may go the way of the "animal poop" snacks they offered at the Sweets Shop in Harambe.

Disney did at Pandora what Universal did with Harry Potter, they created food and drinks for the park and they are just trying to impress and get the public hook to all this new concoction, Butterbeer is a best seller at Universal, Disney try it with Lebouf drink and it didn't catch they way the hoped, now is Avatar Land turn to see if they get their best seller from any of this new offerings.

The problem with that is that Avatar isn't anywhere near as popular as HP. Not even in the same league. Lots of the popularity of Butterbeer comes from people wanting to drink what Harry did.

The whole land have that problem, I'm excited to experience the new ride for the technology, but I still find Avatar no even close to HP in popular culture.

Plus they hear that it's good and the desire to try it just skyrockets. It is delicious so deservedly so imo.

None of that food looks good. :(

and those steamed buns look too, well, steamed! Doughy??

The only bao I eat is up at Pike Place market, and looks nothing like those gigantic buns in the pictures. So I agree with you. Looks like it'll be too much dough and not enough filling.

Kidding aside - they couldn't possibly have used natural colors in those desserts. I think I read that the chocolate cake dessert has a banana cream on top, but the cream has a pale blue tone to it. Ain't no blue bananas!

Natural coloring doesn't mean coloring from the items in the dish lol. They could have used a coloring from one source and put it into the banana cream.

I, for one, can't wait to try blue cheesecake and green beer. I'm not fussed about food colorings, though...they're just the latest fad in food demonizing.

No, not a fad. We are behind the times in using the artificial colors. We are ignoring the knowledge other countries have. I took a pic of food colorings in Ireland a few years ago with a govt warning label stating that the use of food dyes causes an increase in hyperactivity in children. They know it. Anyone watching groups of kids before and after they eat stuff like that can work it out. (My then 4 year old could see it, and at 7 he was so tired of the kids slowly amping up after chomping down brightly colored after-school snacks that he didn't want to be in gymnastics any longer)

As a parent of a kid that can't have artificial coloring... no thank you. We've been dye-free for over a year now and I've gotten to the point where brightly colored food looks absolutely disgusting to me.

Granted, I could always be surprised... that Starbucks unicorn monstrosity had no artificial dyes in it...

Agreed, and how cool was that? And it had a BLUE color that was from natural sources. :)

The most disgusting part is when I see people feed birds turkey leg meat.

Totally agree. I mean, I know the birds don't care. I'm sure they kill and eat other birds often. But I care.

See, this is where I am confused. These foods are very common in everyday life. Maybe not in theme parks, but we do a lot of bowl like this for dinner, and Bao seem.to be everywhere. I see people saying this stuff is weird, and I have to wonder just where they live that it is so.

I am all for anything that isn't more fried, heavy, and boring.

I've never seen Bao within hours of my home. Living in northern ny.

If you have the H-Mart grocery chain near you, most of their outlets have a chain restaurant inside which serves Bao...and H-Marts are becoming ubiquitous...

More blue/yellow with breakfast! Just saw photos on DFB of breakfast items, and other than adding blue and yellow dollops here and there, the french toast looks decent.

Can anyone who has had the sauces for the bowls (onion chimichurri, black bean vinaigrette, and herb dressing) explain the flavors, please? Sorry if it sounds dumb, but I don't have the slightest clue what any of those would be like. Also, does the potato hash have onions? Thanks.
