My kids obsess over the mickey ears icecream bar at Disney. We get one every day we are there.
We are going to UO for the first time. Is there a similar treat? It doesn’t have to be icecream, but a sweet treat that is quintessential UO?

Don't know how old your kids are and if they are Harry Potter fans, but to me the unique UO treat is butterbeer. I don't like it, but I do like the butterbeer ice cream. There is also the Harry Potter candy - chocolate frogs, some sort of mint toads, every flavor beans, etc.

I agree that if they are Harry Potter fans, Butter Beer could be good. The drink is really sweet and I love sweet stuff, but for me, it was too sweet. If they like pop rocks, I personally recommend the fizzing whizzbees. They are sold by the box, chocolate bee shaped candies with pop rocks in them.

Butterbeer, chocolate frogs or cauldron cakes, and the Simpson's big pink donut are probably the most obvious ones. The cauldron cake is really cute and can be found in both Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade iirc. The chocolate frogs come with collectable wizard cards just like in the books/movies. There's also never-melting ice cream which is also super cute (but far too sweet for me as a grownup as it's basically frosting in a cup haha).

But depending on your favorite characters/IP, there are several themed desserts out there flying under the radar including Minions and Seuss desserts in US and IoA respectively. There are several of these treats in the parks but they're rarely mentioned; they don't get the same kind of coverage that Disney treats do, for whatever reason.

And, not themed per se, but I do love a Universal churro and the Today Cafe has cheesecake on a stick which is fun.

Depending on what's in the Tribute Store when you go, you'll likely find something fun there too!

For literal Mickey bar closeness I know the Hop on Pop ice cream shop does sundaes on sticks coated in chocolate and toppings! I've heard they are deliciousness and had it on my snack list!

My kids had those - they (and I after seeing the mess these things made in the heat) preferred the Dole Whips (and the Harry Potter ice creams). They are just TOO big with too thick a chocolate layer, so you bite and it breaks...

Same for the big pink donut and Voodoo Donuts apple fritter - big pink is great til you try Voodoo, and then it's like no comparison:)...

BUT, Butterbeer is any form is the "Mickey Bar" at Universal - after that, go for the tastiest stuff. I admit, my favorite new find was the vegan elderberry croissant...

Not in the park but I always hit Voodoo on the way in or out. I also love the Fishy Green Ale, it's a cinnamon bubble tea that is delicious.
