Smoking sections in restaurants?

Yes, still have smoking sections in some restaurants in Wisconsin. There is always talk about city or county smoking bans in restaurants but they never get done. Probably more than half of the places in my city are non-smoking by their own choice.

I don't know about the rest of Texas, but restaurants in Austin and surrounding areas are smoke-free. It's been than way for the 10 years we've lived here. I'm not sure if it's a state law or just applies to the cities in this area.

CA has been smoke-free in all indoor public building for 10 years. People freaked at first, but business continued as normal.

All Oklahoma restaurants are non-smoking. Bars that serve food can allow smoking, but only if a certain percenatage of their sales comes from drinks instead of food. I'm tired. Hope that made sense.

Washington is smoke-free in public places, except it does not apply to the Indian casinos. Non-reservation casinos are smoke-free.

Our town had been smoke free bars and restaurants for 5? years, and all of Colorado is smoke free, although the casinos have been trying the "cigar bar" loophole. Soon supposedly the casinos will have to be smoke free too. I don't think I can even imagine a smoking section anymore...it seems like such a long time since I've had to answer that question!

New Hampshire hasn't allowed smoking in restaurants for a year or so. I don't remember the exact date they went smoke free but it was after I quit smoking and that was two years ago next month. Most places had already banned smoking, at least around here.

We were driving to WDW in 06 when we stopped in North Carolina to visit a friend it was so weird to see smoking in McDonalds

I'm not sure if it's by counties or the whole state, but at least where I am in MA, smoking is not allowed inside restaurants. They may have outdoor pattio seating where they allow it if they want to.

All bars and restaurants are now smoke free in Maryland.

Yup, and it is much nicer.

I rememeber going to a diner a couple of years ago, and they had a room sectioned off for smokers. It had a spearate ventilation system to clear the air quicker. The only problem was that anytime a new patron was usherede into the room, a waft of smoke stench escaped, so I waited to be seated on the far side of the restaurant rather than take first available table.

No smoking in public places in Maine.:thumbsup2
