Smoking policy?

Anyone know what DVC's policy is regarding smoking on the balcony of villas? Is it ok to do so, or, like on Disney cruise line, not allowed?

Not allowed.

No smoking on any balcony at any Disney resort, including villas. There's a hefty fine for that. All resorts have designated smoking areas, just like the parks do.

If you request 1st floor near smoking they are pretty accommodating at saratoga, old key west, villas of wilderness lodge and beach club villas. the boardwalk villas have been the worst at respecting requests IMO....

As of June 1, 2007, a $250-$500 recovery fee will be imposed for smoking in resort rooms, or on room balconies/patios.

I actually am a non smoker & have been bothered by the family directly below us who appear to have 4 adults who are smoking nearly hourly on the balcony. Makes it impossible for us to use our balcony with our small kids.

I'll pass on the smoking area information to them.
