I'm wondering if people are experiencing smoke at Disney? I'm scheduled to arrive next Friday and I'm concerned about the smoke. I don't want to be out all day if there's smoke in the air. From the looks of the news reports there's fires all around that area. Can anyone fill me in?

I actually have to decide to go or cancel by Sunday, or we will lose our deposit.

Thanks!

There is a fair amount of rain in the forecast for early next week. This should help to bring the wildfires under control.

Basically it all depends on the weather, and your guess is as good as anyone else's.

And some of the smoke is drifting down from fires in North Florida and even Georgia.

I only noticed smoke oder for a few hoiurs a couple of days ago.

Thanks for your response. That's great that you are not getting much smoke. It's been very thick here in South Florida even though there aren't any fires here. They do say the wind is supposed to shift so that the air will blow east to west. If you think of it, let me know how the air is on sunday, or perhaps I'll get back on and bump up this posting. Thanks!

I live in Lakeland, about30-40 min from the entrance to WDW and work in the Celebration area which is close to the parks. We had a few days last week where it looked like we were driving through fog and my throat burned for hours afterwards. I thought it had mostly cleared up but last night went to let my dog out and the smoke was back again. Wildfires are still burning and supposedly we're at great risk. Hopefully we'll get some rain but for now the smoke is a possiblity, depending on how the winds blow. ---Kathy

We were at disney one year when there were wild fires going on.

We found out that depending on the wind direction, some parks were ok, but others weren't.

I remember arriving at MGM one day, and then we smelled the smoke, so we went to a different park that day, cause I can't be around smoke.

I hope the rains help put out the fires.

As of yesterday it was still very hazy and smoky in the I-4 corridor and around WDW but the smell wasn't as bad as it has been. I agree though- it all depends on where the wind blows. ---Kathy
