Small Po-taaaaa-toes! My 09/11 TR & Pics from 02/12!

Day 3 was one that we were really looking forward to. Joe and I were finally going to meet Stef and Dave from London. We have been corresponding for the better part of a year and we were truly looking forward to meeting them in person.

Stef and Dave were on their Disneymoon and were docking that morning in Port Canaveral. Joe and I asked if we could pick them up since we had planned to spend the day together shopping.

The plan was that we'd pick them up, have breakfast at IHOP (Stef wanted to check it out) and then go shop until we dropped.

Joe and I got up early that morning and headed out however not before getting our dose of Small Potatoes. "Small potatoes on the mooooon, small potatoes in the seeeeeaaaaa." The weather was nice until we got about half way there.

DisneySept2011252.jpg

Things were going along nicely. Stef called and let us know where they'd be. As we got within viewing distance of the ship, this is what we saw.

DisneySept2011253.jpg

DisneySept2011254.jpg

Then it turned to this:

DisneySept2011258.jpg

I won't get into too many details about today because I know that Stef will probably want to write about it in her TR, since it was their Disneymoon after all.

We found the nearest IHOP and man, was it crowded. Some luck though as we were seated within about 5 minutes. Breakfast was yummy. I didn't take any pictures.

From there we went to the Mall at Millenia and had a grand old time. I got a couple of Pandora beads :goodvibes and we did a lot of browsing as well. We even went into the Jimmy Choo store but honestly, nothing said "I must have you now" to me...which was probably a good thing. I will let Stef describe her purchases.

From there we went to the Outlet Mall. OMG, I can't remember which one though. :confused3 We both got a couple of things at the Disney Outlet and did other shopping as well.

After that we hit up WalMart. Stef and Dave had not been in a WalMart so we thought .... why not? It was fun. Joe got a kick out of Dave taking a picture of the WalMart sign. I have to say that if we were in England, I'd do the same thing with every store that we went into. :lmao:

Our original intention was to also go to the shops in Kissimmee but we were running out of time, as we had dinner ressies at Cali Grille.

Those of you that know me know that I totally hated Cali Grille and said that I'd never go back. Stef and Dave convinced me that it was worth another shot and wow, they were oh so right.

We celebrated our anniversary that evening and the start of their Disney Parks portion of their Disney moon. Dave had a surprise for Stef but I don't want to disclose it in my TR, since I know that she will be writing about it in hers.

Sorry for the lack of details but I really want Stef to be able to talk about it. :flower3:

I did take these pictures though of our meals and of Wishes from the Deck of the Contemporary. I only had the point and shoot with me this day so our pictures aren't all that fab.

During dinner we realized that the monorail was going to discontinue service soon. Joe and I had parked at the Poly, where Stef and Dave were staying so we had to figure out how we were all going to get back there! As luck would have it, our server was kind enough to get us the heck out of there so that we could catch one of the last monorails back to the Poly.

Joe and I had so much fun with Stef and Dave. They are a lovely couple and awesome people. We feel blessed to have met them and feel as though we have found life long friends!

We got back to our room and were pretty tired so we decided to watch some tv before calling it a day.

Next up....did we make Rope Drop at MK with Stef and Dave?

Another NE Ohio DISer joining in. Love the view for the wishes!! Soon our kids will rather eat here than Chef Mickey or Hollywood & Vine. :cool1:

YAY about E and B! That will be awesome!

Shopping sounded like fun.. sorry you didn't get the pics you wanted of the BIG boat though :(

We also LOVED Cali Grill! That cheese plate was to DIE for! My dessert was UHmazing too! It is def on our must do list for next time.. and now that will be with you :D

looking forward to your next day!

ps- we REALLY missed you this day! no more trips with so many days not together anymore!

Happy dancing over a Feb trip. :woohoo:

I was bummed that I didn't get my boat pictures. :sad2:

I really was surprised as to how much I loved Cali.

I missed you guys too but am excited that we get more time together NYear's!

Aww, I actually kind of like Duffy. I think he's cute. :)

That cake looked really good!

And yay for another trip! That is a great deal. I really think you should try Sea World. I think you'd survive if you left Disney for one day. ;) It's nice to see something new for a change.

I just can't seem to get into Duffy. He is cute but it just feels like he doesn't fit in or something. :rolleyes1

The cake was very good. They do a great job at the Grand Floridian Bakery.

It seems that E&B have decided not to do Sea World this year.

Love the updates thus far. :lovestruc

I personally have never been all that impressed with GF Cafe. It stinks that they made you wait so long. If I were you I would have logged a complaint with guest services. In my experience, they are always willing to right and wrongs. :confused3

That cake looked awesome btw. :mickeybar

I really want to hotel hop. I've always wanted to stay at PO and based on your pics I think I would like it lots. Boardwalk is also on the top of my "to go to" list. Oh and Saratoga in the tree house villas, lol. Bucket list item is to stay at every Dis hotel at least once. :rolleyes1

Woo for booking your February trip! :woohoo:

Also the family & I are in talks to do another Sept trip. I am SUPER hopeful we can make it work and spend some time with you guys while we're down there.

I LOVE the pic of Kayla with the frog hat. Too cute! :cutie:

Looking forward to the rest of your TR.

We have always had a great experience at GFC but I think we're done for a while after this last time. :sad2: Cake was good though.

We really enjoyed POFQ. OUr friends were at POR and they liked it as well although they didn't have queen beds like they thought.

Woot for your possible September trip!!! You will have to keep us posted.

Kayla is such a cutie. :)

Yay for a Feb trip and that you are sharing it with good friends :)

Ohmigoodness will you really consider leaving Disney property to go to Sea World? Mind you, its so close that you will never be far from your happy place :teeth:

Love the update, was an amazing day and we had so much fun  It has been so much fun getting to know you and Joe this past year or so and to finally meet in person was so exciting. Keep saying to Dave, I hope we can meet up again in Disney, if not I'm sure Cleveland isn't far off the cards :teeth:

You can post as much as you want, I don't mind at all :) I still haven't started my TR and most prob won't til this weekend (hopefully). So post away what you like :)

I was so excited when our friends booked! I think we are going to have a great time.

Since E&B are not doing Sea World, we don't have to make the super hard decision to leave the 40 some square miles of awesomeness that is Disney property. :lmao:

Joe and I had a blast with you guys and are looking forward to our next visit!

Great updates and awesome news about going back. If you feel like you can tear yourself away from the mouse to go to Sea World, go. When we went a few years ago I loved it. I miss the one we used to have here so much and it was nice to see the whales and other animals again.

Did you like Sea World in Fla as much as the one that we had here? Was it different?

Another NE Ohio DISer joining in. Love the view for the wishes!! Soon our kids will rather eat here than Chef Mickey or Hollywood & Vine. :cool1:

Hi and :welcome:. Nice to see another NE Ohio Diser!!!

I left you wondering if we made rope drop the next morning. We were actually running a bit late as it seems like it takes forever to get to MK if you have to go via the TTC. Man, I missed WL this past trip.

We arrived and began to look for Stef and Dave. I was so worried that we would never find them in the crowd. While we looked, I took out my camera so that the lens could have time to adjust and my picutres wouldn't all look like this.

We found Stef and Dave. Seems like they were stuck on a monorail from hell.

While we waited for the opening show to start, I took some more pictures.

Don't you just love the opening show? I have the park CD on my iPod and listen to at work, especially when I am having a craptastic day.

Next up...bring on the breakfast!

We dealt with the rush of people after the opening show that were trying to get into the park. Sheesh peeps, relax.

We decided on Main Street Bakery for breakfast. Can you believe it, Joe and I had never been in there before? I mean, he ran in and got stuff for us in the past but I have never sat down inside nor did I have a clue how big the place was (or small, depending on how many people tried to cram in the joint.)

Stef and I sat down while the boys went for breakfast. I think I just told Joe to get me "whatever." No clue why I took this picture.

DisneySept20112190.jpg

And I think this is Stef's breakfast. Happens to be the only food porn pic that I have as well.

DisneySept20112191.jpg

After breakfast we made our way to the Chapeau to get Stef bride ears (a must have for all brides) and to get Ringo ears. Ringo is our only fur baby that doesn't have them.

While Stef and I were taking care of business, this was going on:

Stef and I were doing a lot of this while the guys were being silly.

DisneySept20112225.jpg

I just love all of the ears that they have now. We saw these and instantly thought of E&B and how perfect they would be for our yearly Oktoberfest.

DisneySept20112195.jpg

Here are a few others that I liked.

DisneySept20112226.jpg

DisneySept20112227.jpg

Stef got her bride ears and I placed the order for Ringo's ears. I said that I'd pick them up on the way out of the park.

We then headed down Main Street and saw these guys

DisneySept20112230.jpg

DisneySept20112233.jpg

Next up, which way did we go? Did we do what the masses do and go to Fantasyland? ........

Great RD pics, love seeing that on the first MK day of the trip :)

Joe and Dave were so silly with the hats, I swear we must have been in there for at least 15mins watching them try every hat on

Just want to say, my face is never normally that greasy, is a combo of sun cream and a new toner

Can't believe you've never eaten in MS Bakery before. Wish we could have that cinnamon roll again, is sooooo good!

Those two would have stayed in there forever trying on hats it we had let them. :lmao:

I think it was the flash and your face wasn't greasy! :lmao: Look at me in the background. I look crazy.

I regret not trying the cinnamon roll.

Next time you just have to get the cinnamon roll :teeth:

Great update and pics!!! Love that the guys had fun with hats. Too funny... :rotfl:

Main Street bakery is surprisingly small inside. I mean...it is a prime "grab a bite to eat when you first enter the park" location and yet tinny. The one time we did eat in there it was during when there was the cheerleader thing going on. The girls decided to paint their nails in there..and proceeded to spill a bottle. What a way to ruin the nice smell of baked goods for everyone on their vacations. We left shortly after cause I couldn't take the fumes... :headache: Not to mention an entire group taking up most of the tables... we felt like outsiders.

I do believe that I will be getting that next time! :goodvibes

OMG, I would have been so mad! Seriously, painting your nails at MK? :scared1: Talk about ruining the magic for everyone.

I was so surprised at how small it was inside there too.

We really did have fun with the hats. :goodvibes

Great updates, Sophia. It amazes me how the rain can stop within a few feet in Florida.

It looks like a great dinner at CG (we've never been there) with Stefy and Dave. I am really upset we didn't get to meet them when they were there. :sad1:

I love the opening show at the MK; unfortunately, we did not get to see it this trip (we missed several things this trip).

DisneySept20112247.jpg

We planned to make our way over to Pirates. Here are a few pictures along the way. Oh, and I can't remember if we stopped for a Dole Whip or not. Yeah, I know, we just ate, but try telling Joe that.

DisneySept20112257.jpg

So we got to the entrance and guess what? The ride was down. Dang, I hate when that happens.

We kept moving along.........

DisneySept20112260.jpg

We decided to tackle one or two of the mountains while we were over that way. Thinking BTMRR, but guess what? It was down too! We grabbed FP's and then rode this.

DisneySept20112263.jpg

And yes, that is the only picture I took because I am scared crapless to take them while on the ride.

Oh, and by the way, we got wet.....

From Splash we checked out BTMRR again, but it was still down.

We made our way over to HM, but guess what? If I remember correctly, it was down too. So off we went to Fantasyland and rode this.

DisneySept20112276.jpg

Hold on tight for these craptastic pictures that I took inside.

and of course, another yearly attempt of the little Greek boy...yeah, the one that my Yia-Yia wanted me to marry...."you find nice Greek boy"

DisneySept20112289.jpg

After Small World, I cannot recall what we did. :confused3

According to my pictures, we made our way to LTT for lunch. This was the first time that we had eaten lunch there and we were not disappointed. We cheked in early and had to kill some time. Stef and I talked while the guys did this.

DisneySept20112291.jpg

When it was time to be seated, the guys took their masterpieces with them so that they could finish them. They took crayons too but soon found that there were nice, new, sharp ones at the table.

Here is Dave's finished piece:

DisneySept20112292.jpg

DisneySept20112297.jpg

Our meals were awwe-soooome!

DisneySept20112296.jpg

Somehow I did not get a picture of dessert but all I can say is holy crap! I must have that again. It was some sticky toffee stuff that was incredible. Worth the trip back just for that!

Great updates, Sophia. It amazes me how the rain can stop within a few feet in Florida.

It looks like a great dinner at CG (we've never been there) with Stefy and Dave. I am really upset we didn't get to meet them when they were there. :sad1:

It is funny how you can be driving through a ridiculously huge storm and then all of a sudden.........nothing! :confused3

CG was really good. I was very surprised after the last time we were there. I am glad that we went.

I wish that you could have met them too. They are such a cute couple and totally awesome as Crush would say!

We actually missed a lot this trip too. I was determined to catch the show though at MK.

Main St Bakery is very yummy. I plan to go there again. You should try it.

You are an updating machine today, Sophia.

First, I forgot to say in the previous update: Joe and Dave could give Mark a run for his money in the hat trying on department. :lmao::lmao:

Love the new update. Amazing that POTC was down; I remember you telling me on average it goes down 7 times a day. It was down once or twice while we were there too.

We ate at LTT in 2009, I believe, and Mark loved his meal and the toffee dessert too.

After reading this 2 thoughts come to mind

1) I want a friggin Dole Whip... Mmmmm *drools*

2) Joe makes a very pretty princess. Pink is totally his color :rotfl:

I don't blame you for not getting pictures on Splash Mountain. I too am terrified on that ride. I am a big ole fraidy cat when it comes to falling.

Okay, I am late again!

But I am all caught up. :lmao: Great TR so far Sophia. Yeah for going back in February, just a little too early for us .... we'll arrive 10 days later.
So sorry to hear about your GFC visit - an off day maybe?
And btw, your view of Port Canaveral was exactly the same we had before we first cruised ......... :rotfl2:

great opening show pics! I took my camera but late like a dope and most of my pics are the blurry fuzzies!

I'd like to eat at main street bakery one day! what did you and joe eat?

LOLOLOLOL @ the pics of the boys in the hats, love it!

Glad you liked LTT, it's on my list for next time..lunch though, not dinner!

I could not believe POTC was down that morning. I was surprised to learn too how many times a day it goes down. :confused3
