I bought some neat, very flat freezer packs to bring with us in our cooler backpack for our lunches in the parks....but it just occurred to me that I may not be able to put these small freezer packs in our checked in luggage? Anyone know? I am aware I cannot bring freezer packs in my carry on but not sure about checked bags?
Thank you!

There is nothing dangerous or restricted in them; no reason they cannot be packed in checked baggage. The cold in the baggage hold certainly shouldn't cause any problems. We've brought a freezable lunch bag along that sounds similar. Just be aware that even the small ones can be heavy, and there is a weight limit on your bags. If you are getting close, you might end up paying a lot to bring them along in checked bags.

You can check those absolutely. I have checked liquid in my checked baggage, last time I packed juice boxes. In three Ziploc bags of course.

Yep...I used small freezer packs in checked luggage to bring chip dip down to wdw for our son last week :)

Are these freezer packs used to transport meat during your flight? That may be an issue.

No, just wanted to have them for when we bring sandwiches & snacks in the parks. The only food I was planning on bringing in my checked in luggage was granola bars, special nut-free chocolates & gummies.

Another option (saw this on Pinterest) is to put a sponge into a zip top bag. It would be lighter (because you wouldn't put water into the sponge until you get to your location then throw it into your room's bar fridge over night, or into a bucket of ice, if no fridge is available). The sponge can also serve multiple purposes and you don't have to worry about any leaks! :-)
