Small favor to ask of you ....yes you please.(UPDATE ON PG.4).

Hi, Delilah!
I'm sure you are trying hard to be brave about this. Ask your mom to get you some bright colored markers so everyone can sign your cast! My daughter broke her arm on the very first day of school in second grade. But, you know what, she made a lot of friends that way because everyone in class wanted to help her!
I'm sure that will happen for you too when you go back to school.

And snowwhitemom,
My DD's school allowed her to borrow an "AlphaSmart" from the technology department. It's a kid-friendly, portable keyboard
that is a self-contained unit - meaning, no other things (cords, discs, etc.) to carry around but the keyboard. It allowed my DD to do 'normal' things like copy her assignments, take her spelling tests, etc. while she couldn't write. Most school districts have several of these for just such occassions. My DD was disappointed when she could write again and had to turn it in!!!!

I can not say how much I appreciate all the posts....She loved it!!! It was better than getting a dozen roses to her. She loved seeing her name and all the clever sayings and clipart. I did leave out a very big detail....We leave for WDW in about on Friday. I will have the pink ballerina with the broke arm at mnnshp on the 20th. Its not a hard cast yet...that comes in 10 days after they are sure it "set" right. No pools or waterparks for us this time but thats ok, Absolutely no getting it wet...uhgg!! The Dr. said to keep my trip planned and take it easy...this trip was planned because she was fianlly tall enough to ride R&R...oh well. We can get all the characters to sign her temp cast however..Cool huh? Thats what I keep telling her:D Thanks again..You guys rock!!!!

Delilah, I'm so sorry that you got hurt. I hope you feel better very soon. A trip to Disney World should help a little. :Pinkbounc I wish I could go with you!

Get lots of signatures on your cast. This'll all be a neat memory some day, but for now I know it's not so fun. Have a great trip!

Delilah,
Sorry about your arm!:( :( Were you doing a super-duper delixe flip on the monkey bars??

But you're going to Disney World!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I bet you will make a beautiful pink ballerina!!!!:Pinkbounc Do you take dance lessons?

Keep your arm elevated and eat lots and lots of ice cream!!

Pam

That's great, mom!!!! Autographs on Delilah's cast. You will like that, Delilah. Enjoy!!!! :bounce:

PS: Always nice to see the kids enjoy the DIS. :sunny:

I hate to put a damper on this, but the roller coaster may be IFFY depending on the cast, and mobility.

I noted this when my son had a cast, and couldn't do some carnival rides..

But when we were at IOA/USF in August I remember seeing a person try to get on either DD or Hulk.

The CM's there were having a discussion to see if they could do it with a cast. Apparently the person had to be able to pull over the harness over their head (same type restraints as RNRR) and be able to clip it with one hand.

They also didn't want the person next to others for fear that the cast would bump and hurt another one riding it...

Just to be forewarned!

I can't remember the jist of it, if the person would up riding it or not.

Delilah, I hope you are feeling a little better now. I hope you are able to write again, very soon. {{{HUGS}}} sweetie.

Hi Delilah,

I hope that you are feeling better.

My grandmother broke her wrist last week and I had to take her to the hospital. She told me that she tripped on the hose, but now I think she may have been playing on the monkey bars. :)

Have a great time in WDW.

just an fyi, my neice broke her arm last year right before disney and they put a special cast on that can go in the pool. My sister had to pay the diff between regular cast material, and the special. It was about 65 but well worth the money. Something to consider.

Hang in there Delilah! And get lots and lots and lots of siggies on your cast! Have fun!

Kidzmom3, I wish I could but unfortunately she is in a expandable cast for the next 10 days and then they said I could get regular plaster or waterproof but we have to wait and allow for swelling and make sure its ok before they put the perm. one on...but Thanks for lettting me know. I feel sure that we will probally ride the GMR about a dozen times instead of R&R..I guess she will have to wait til next time....I am a play it safe kind of Mom..overprotective is my middle name and look what happens...She is lucky and blessed that it was not her back or neck that took a hard hit to. Thanks so much for the great posts everyone!!!

Well at least Delilah will have a unique memento from this trip. I hope you all have fun and Delilah, I hope you feel better soon:)
