Thinking about adding 25 to 50 points to our current 250. Right now we have 150 at BWV and 100 at AKV. We were going to do resale, but the only contract that fit was raided and the closing costs were pretty high.

So...... that being said......do we

1) Buy AKV direct from Disney
2) Buy BWV direct from Disney (although the sticker price is $115 now and we probably won't do that)
3) Buy BLT direct from Disney

If we bought 50 BLT points, we'd have 100 to use every other year plus the m/f are significantly lower than the others. If we buy AKV, we'll have 150 at both resorts which would be nicely balanced. If we buy BWV, we'll have more points there than anywhere else.

The other option is to just wait for the right resale. Does anyone know if TSS will take your name and call if one comes available in your desired resort?

Finally, if we do buy direct from Disney, how do I find out my guide's name and how do I contact him/her. We bought both contracts resale so I didn't deal with anyone there.

Ahhhhhh...... decisions......decisions!

Yes the TSS will take your name, and if you call they often times have resales that aren't listed, maybe ones people had listed before but didn't sell so if someone asks for that point and home resort they contact the seller. I would call them, I have my name on a few lists.

for 50 points or less I'd buy direct and either AKV, SSR or BLT depending on how you'd use it. It sounds like BLT might be your best bet. smaller packages tend to be more expensive resale then you add the closing costs and it really isn't much difference retail or resale. IF you're UY hasn't come up yet you might get 2009 points to bank as well without paying as much in main fees as the resale companies suggest you should pay.

TTS will take your name and place you on their mailing list. They do not seem to call directly as they have many people looking for small add-on's as well as other resales.

If it's AKV the additional cost of buying direct is negligible for that small of a contract in part b/C of closing costs for resale and, as you have discovered, because many of the small contracts are stripped. I'd probably go direct for AKV. BWV has now been priced by DVC that small contracts aren't necessarily best direct but you'd have to run the numbers against any resale you could find.

First thing I would do is look at the 2011 point charts and see what 25 - 50 points would allow me to reserve at each of the resorts I was considering. As it might take three years of points to be able to stay at BLT for only a few nights. And since you already own at BWV and AKV, do you find you don't have enough points for the length of time or size of villa you want to reserve at either of those resorts? Then maybe that resort is the one you need to add on points.

We initially bought at BLT and we did a BLT add on a few weeks later to bring it up to 210 as we realized the 160 points did not go far and would not give us an opportunity to stay at BLT in 1 BR when we bring family. But our 100 AKV points lets us be pretty flexible and another 50 would make it easy to reserve the villa(s) the way we want.

And as to buying at BWV, I'd only do it on resale, the $115 per point price Disney is selling is ridiculously over priced. With some patience a contract will pop for BWV. The waiting is hard but it will be rewarding.

So my advice is buy AKV. I'd still check out the resale for AKV and BWV and pick the one with the best price. And I would compare the total cost with the current offers through Disney direct. Since this purchase would be an add on you might save money buying direct (or only pay a little more but get the points fast).
