We took advantage of a generous babysitting offer and actually braved the mall yesterday to go see this movie. I had heard great things about it, and I'm a big fan of the director, so I was sold. Considering this may be the only movie we see in theaters for a while, I wanted to make sure to pick a good one.

I LOVED it! The story is very sweet and inspiring. There are some difficult parts to watch, as it does show some really sad aspects of living in a giant city while in total poverty. But, the acting was quite good and visually, it was bright and colorful and fun to watch. Also, the music is extremely well done and really adds to the film.

A brief synopsis:
A young man who grew up in the slums of Mumbai goes on Who Wants to be a Millionaire. He's one question away from winning it all, and is arrested because they assume he's cheated. How could a slumdog know all of the answers? The movie explains how he knows by showing his life.

Not really for kids under 12 or so, but most of the questionable content is hinted at, rather than explicitly shown. I promise you'll leave the theater smiling. Which is hard to do where I live, considering it's like 19 degrees and snowing like crazy :rotfl:

(p.s. Don't I have awesome movie review skills, I should be on TV :rotfl: :lmao: Even though I'm lame, still go see it!)
