I was just talking to DD about this. I wear turtlenecks to work almost every day from autumn through spring.
I tried to mix it up this week by wearing a sweater under a blazer instead. Still boring, but my neck showed! (We had 65 degree weather here in upstate NY this week .)
I like them when it's really cold out, but I don't like the ones that are really high and tight. I prefer a mock neck.
I gave most of my tutlenecks to charity when I moved to Florida, but I kept a couple of them. Used one when I had to go to NJ last month and it was only in the teens when I got off the plane. Ducked into the ladies room at the airport and put it on then and there. My blood has thinned, but I didn't realize how much until that day!
I like them ok, but only after I've stretched the necks out. I yank on them constantly until they are looser around my neck (I really hate having anything close around my neck).
I LOATHE them. I get too, too hot when I wear them. My face turns bright red and I look like I am having a heart attack. And I have a round face, so fashion-wise they look wretched. If it is cold outside, I just use a scarf to cover my neck.
Part of our winter uniform is a mock turtle neck undershirt. I can't stand it. Underneath all this stuff it feels like someone has there hands around my neck squeezing it all day!
Well, I only like wearing the "mock" turtleneck, but those I LOVE. My DS* would live in his turtlenecks if I let him. He says that they are so soft and male him feel safe.
