At BCV right now, and I cannot believe how SLOOOOOOW . . . the internet connection is here. This is worse than I recall dial up ever being. I remember I ran into this here before, and thought it was maybe a fluke. We were at OKW, and SSR earlier this week, and the connection at both places was much faster than this.

I was going to do a speed test, but that page has not loaded while I waited for this one to load - so I can't even imagine how long it will take to take the test. Has anyone had decent broadband here?

I was having issues last summer at OKW with my old laptop loading, but then my son logged on fast with his new laptop without any issues. I've bought a new laptop since then.

I had trouble at BCV in December. I called and they sent an IT person up and after that it was great. I suggest calling someone.

We've been hating it all week at BWV. Connections have been not only slow but every irregular (easily stalled or disconnected). Can't count how often we've phoned the service desk to reset the connection.

Monday night I switched to my cell phone for faster, more consistent service. :( Slow and steady won the race again.

I have basically a brand new MacBook. I did not have these issues at OKW or SSR. I am loathe to call support - I am guessing they will tell me it is my fault because I am using my airport express to give myself wireless in my room (which worked fine at the other two resorts, and should not be an issue). Besides that we have just one more full day, and since I am getting my email, I will just put up with it. Can't tether my cell phone.

And, oh, yeah, it is free for members -so I guess I get what I pay for!

So I called tech support anyway, and as expected, they blamed it on my Airport Express. When I told them it worked fine at OKW and SSR, they told me they have different network equipment.

I am working fine right now plugged in directly, so now I will try to unplug again and see what happens.

Well, apparently the airport express is the issue. Seems dumb to me, but what can I say?

As soon as I plug in directly, speed increases, and the connection is more stable. Go figure.

I am sure that a wired connection is marginally faster, but even my airport g transmission speeds are faster than most internet connections. It is odd that this was not a problem at OKW or SSR.

A friend sent me a message telling me that there have been numerous posts about using an Airport express at BCV, and that no one has been able to figure out how to make it work better. Oh well.
