Today is my DD’s golden birthday and she turns 21yrs old today.

For Me……My golden birthday was when I turned 18 years old. Back then, people didn’t make a big deal out of. Today, golden birthdays are more special. I have some special surprises for DD21’s golden birthday Happy Birthday @piglet1805!

Many, many years ago. 18 on the 18th (no idea it was golden then). Busy getting ready to graduate from high school and go to college.

I was 10. I hadn't heard of the term at the time, but back then, 10 was considered a pretty big birthday anyway, so I don't feel cheated.

By the time DS had his, I knew about them and did something special.

I’ve never heard this term, but I like it! I saw “golden” and just thought 50 like a Golden Anniversary. That being said, if we’re talking birthdays…it was 21. A bunch of my college friends had decided to stay in Syracuse for the summer before our senior year. It wasn’t quite as wild as birthdays were during the main terms since a number of places were shuttered for the summer, but we still had a blast. These days, we know so many people who target Vegas or New Orleans for the big 21.

Never heard of a Golden Birthday either. I was 30. I don't remember my 30th birthday, probably because our first born was 4 months old and neither my wife or I slept a lot at that time. Our second child was born 4 years later, so basically ages 29 to 37 are kind of a blur for both of us.

Me too. We should get a do-over. Mine was at 30 and to be that age again certainly would be golden!!

Like others, I don’t recall hearing the term until today. Mine would have been when I turned 5, so to make up for it I’m going to choose to celebrate any birthday when my age has a 5 in it as a golden birthday.

My next birthday will be 52 so I have some good times ahead.

I've never heard of it. But I was 17 and likely didn't do anything. I had a sweet 16 cookout and then went to a nice dinner with the family for 18. Last 2 birthday celebrations for me and I am now 51.
