DH is the one who controls the thermostat. I can go adjust it if I wanted to, but I just don't mess with it.

Hubby and I have collectively agreed on a number but no one cares if someone moves it up/down without asking or telling...

It is just my husband and myself and we both change it as needed. I wish either of us could change it now, the AC died last night and it’s going to be 95 here today. My AC person retired in the fall so it was a fun morning of calling places and being told because of the holiday weekend they are currently only helping current customers. Luckily I got a recommendation from someone and have someone coming on Friday and they will let me know if they have a cancellation.

Good luck. I might have to check into a hotel if I had no AC and the outside temps are 95. I hope this gets rectified soon.

Me. I don’t like to be hot in my house. When we had oil heat I’d keep it close to 60 in the winter. Now we’re all electric and it’s about 63 in the winter. Summer is 69 (night mostly) to 71.

...This summer has been a fight since I am hot all the time. I'm sorry but 77 degrees is not AC. If I drop it below 75, there is typically a heated discussion (pun unintended). I'm sweating in shorts and a tank; I'm not going to be naked to get cool in my own home!
Exactly! If there's a conflict here, the warmer person wins, and the temp comes down a bit. - The colder person (usually me :rotfl: ) can always put on more clothes.

We have a 3 level house with different furnances and AC units/controls. The basement isn't an issue for us, but the 2nd and 3rd levels are a big problem thermostat wise for me and my husband. During the summer, I'm lowering the temp and he's raising it. We live in the Southeast and it's hot and humid. Problem continues when it finally starts to cool here. When we get fresh, cool, crisp air, I love opening the windows. He's right behind me shutting them AND turning on the heat. Drives me crazy.
