Haven’t played in years, but we have two of the classic games (one was mine, one DH’s), plus a world edition with an electronic banking device that was DS’s.

I went through a Monopoly collection phase when I was younger, and now I can't seem to part with them.

My husband is huge into board games- so an entire wall in the basement is full of games. It's overwhelming, but fun for at-home/babe is asleep date night.

I have just one original -from the '70s- in a closet somewhere. Used to play a lot when I was younger with neighborhood friends. Games would go on for hours, occasionally stretching into the next day.

We had Monopoly in my house when I was a kid. It was my sisters. I never cared for the game, takes too long.

Don't own one now.

We have the original and one of those local city editions sold as a charity fundraiser. Haven't played the original in at least 30 years. People have so many crazy made up rules it seems.
Never taken the plastic wrap off the local city edition and I've had it at least 30 years too. Funny thing is, last year someone started selling what they claimed was the "first ever" local edition for our city. And everyone on Social Media was posting photos of the editions we got 30ish years ago. Turns out the one I have may not have been produced with the authorization of Milton Bradley. But the new one didn't sell a lot because most of us who wanted a city edition, had the unauthorized one already.

I ❤️ playing Monopoly. I am an only child and I remember playing it often by myself. I played for both players and no cheating.

We hav an original, Disney, Farmopoly and Nascaropoly. I would love to find a Grand Hotel version.

I only have one board game (original)... but we rarely play it. It takes forever. We also have a Monopoly-based card game (Monopoly Deal, maybe?) that we like. It's a quicker game play.

At one point or another, I've owned:
  • Original game
  • Special edition with wooden houses/hotels
  • Dogopoly
  • NC Stateopoly
  • Georgia Techopoly
  • Modern edition (with credit cards)
  • Spaceopoly

As a kid, played with friends/cousins. Games went on for days.

Grandson has a version that only takes about an hour. Many different rules to speed up game.

I also played Monopoly often as a kid. I don't currently have a set. Thank you all for the pictures of different versions. I will have to check some put sometime, looks fun :)

So, who uses some fun house rules? Interestingly, if you play by the actual rules, teh game shouldn't take that long. This is where you auction off every peice of property landed on, even if the person who landed on it doesn't want to buy. Personally, I prefer the land on it to buy it rule, plus keeping a moderate windfall on the Free Parking space.

Since being introduced to European board games I have a complete snob. I detest Monopoly. I do own a card game version. Anyone want to play Ticket to Ride?
