I think the Orange Bird is super cute! Love oranges and citrus, it’s fun play on all of that.

I picked “take him or leave him”. Haven’t thought about Orange Bird in years and didn’t realize there’s that much themed merchandise.

On my first trip to WDW, as a kid in the mid-70’s, we bought juice in these little plastic oranges. Back then, there were no juice boxes/pouches, or even a lot of sippy-type cups with straws, so it was a novelty. They also sold grape juice in a container shaped like a bunch of purple grapes. We thought they were cute and brought them home. I also recall tv commercials from that time, with the cartoon OB and Anita Bryant, promoting Florida oranges and Florida tourism with a tie-in to WDW.

Orange Bird does not exist at Disneyland.

I think he is cute but don’t understand the connection to Disney World.

He was created for the Florida Citrus Growers Association, which is why he was never featured in the California parks.

I think he’s cute but that’s about it. One of my teen daughters really likes him and has some Orange Bird merch. We also have the Orange Bird golden book that’s part of the Disney World Series.

I didn't know what you were referring to in the thread topic, but once I opened it, I knew what it was. It's a cute character, but I never felt like I needed any of the merch.

The Orange Bird character was created by Disney for the sponsored orange juice stand at WDW. I believe they sold frozen concoctions as well. Now they use the Orange Bird at the Citrus Swirl location, Aloha Isle.

Never heard of him, he's kinda cute but I can't say I'd be in any rush to buy any merchandise with him, unless there was anything so cute I couldn't resist.

I have seen Orange Bird and I put "I like him" because I think he's cute, but I have not and probably will never buy merchandise with him on it. He means nothing to me personally.

I think my family took a selfie in front of a mural he was on in Downtown Disney on our most recent trip (2023)... but it was because we liked the mural as a whole, not because OB was on it.

I don't think I realized the citrus commission history. I honestly thought he has something to do with one of the Epcot festivals.

I like Orange Bird and fondly remember him at WDW from my first visit in 1972, where I drank the juice in the orange sipper shown above. I see no harm in the character as it has no culpability in the Anita Bryant mess whatsoever -- she can shoulder her own guilt.

I don't really buy much merch, but I did buy an Orange Bird antenna topper years back for my mom, who always loved Orange Bird. She always loved how it helped her find her car in parking lots.

I clicked on “Other”. I remember seeing tv commercials for Florida Orange Juice with Anita Bryant and I vaguely remember seeing the orange bird in WDW in the early 70s.

I don’t remember it being advertised or pushed as being a Disney character. I don’t understand why they dug him up and brought him back after so many years.

I don’t like, love, hate, or dislike him. I just think he’s something resurrected for merchandising.
