Salsa comes in different hotness levels. Some of us (like me) can’t handle hotness, and some of (like my DH) can handle the super hot. How about you…..

What is your favorite salsa hotness level?
What is the hottest you can handle?
(multiple choice)

For Me……Mild is my favorite hotness level and the hottest I can handle is medium. I will eat medium sometimes, and it’s alright. Anything hotter than that will just make me miserable - LOL! We had taco salads last night, and I had salsa for the salads, which is what inspired this poll.

I usually go for medium. Hot is really okay too. I don't know that I've ever had salsa that is called (or that I would consider) Extra Hot. They are all different though, some brands' Hot is like other brands' Mild.

I used to like everything hot- salsa, buffalo wings, thai food- until I got pregnant with DD30. Since then, mild is the hottest I can do for anything, although lately I've been venturing into the medium range; the drunken noodles we had last week were medium, and they were pretty good.

I like almost all salsa and probably like hot the best. I could do extra hot and the spice wouldn’t bother me, but sometimes I think the hotness interferes with the flavor.

I think a lot of it depends on the brand. Medium is probably my favorite, but some brands I like the mild the best. I can handle hot, but I just like the lesser heat stuff better.

Mild all the live long days my stomach will revolt if I hand it anything otherwise !!! It will gather all my organs in a uproar against me to teach me a lesson 😳😳🤣🤣 no more spicy 🌶️ for me I had to cave in and give them their way taste buds really have no pull in my system !! 🤣🤣

I like medium, my DH and grandsons, like hot or extra hot. DH has about 8 bottles of hot sauce in active use. Eggs, use this, veggies, use that, Ketchup, add that. No wonder they go for the hot or extra hot.

I don’t know if this is still the case, but a number of the commercially produced salsas supposedly have/had regional variations catering to heat tolerances of certain parts of the country.

I can handle up to area versions of hot, but most of the homemade salsas I’ve had from people’s family recipes and area restaurant salsas are different. They have some heat to them, but it’s different than the store bought stuff. Not sure how to describe it.

I make or buy fresh salsa medium so everyone can customize the heat level themselves. Personally, I like it hot to very hot.

I prefer medium. That is what I buy. We go through a lot of it for various things.
I don't like it so hot you can't taste what you are eating.

I like medium. I can handle hot, but I prefer actually flavor over burning your mouth off just for the sake of hot.

I generally stick with mild or medium. I usually buy medium.

I can do hot in some salsas, but other hot salsas bother me (maybe it depends on the kind of peppers that are used?) If it's something that's marked "extra hot" I'll just steer clear.

My go-to is mild, but I might dabble with medium or hot. I've made salsa a couple of times and it's a whole different level of flavor than the stuff in a jar. It's also a big mess, so I'll get the refrigerated stuff from the grocery store.
