I’ve done a poll on tomato soup & grilled cheese before, but it wasn’t about dunking your sandwich in your soup. It’s all about the dunking today. So tell me…..

Do you eat tomato soup & grilled cheese?
If yes…do you dunk your sandwich into your soup?

For Me……Yes, yes and yes I thought about this topic as I was dunking my grilled cheese into my tomato soup last night - so good! And yes…we’re having a heat wave, and I’m still making this for dinner. We love this meal and eat it regardless what time of year it is

We're in the heat wave, too. Mid-90s in northern Maine, and of course my 100+ year old house does not have air conditioning. I've been trying to think about what to have for supper tonight (it's supposed to be parmesan pasta bake- nope, not turning the oven on in THIS weather). Grilled cheese and tomato soup is pretty much a stand-by here, so it might be tonight's supper. Tomorrow is chicken Caesar salad wraps (chicken from Sam's, not from MY kitchen)!

ETA- Yes, I dunk, but mostly just the crusts!

I eat grilled cheese anytime, but rarely with tomato soup. I never dunk.

My DH likes grilled cheese, but hates tomato soup.

My DS likes them together, especially when he's not feeling great, and he does dunk.

I absolutely love grilled cheese and tomato soup and dunking is a must! One of my littles is a picky eaters, but it's her favorite, too! I may need to have this for lunch now - sounds so good!

I love grilled cheese, but I never noticed them being served with tomato soup until my last couple of years of college. It was a once a week thing on our lunch menu. I’m up to try just about anything, but it turns out that I don’t like tomato soup. As a kid, I always wondered why the market had so many cans of something we never bought

I did try an elevated version last summer. It’s a lobster grilled cheese (on brioche with avocado, sun dried tomato pesto, and Gruyère) and tomato basil pesto bisque. Didn’t love it, although the same place also does a short rib grilled cheese that’s better…although, no side of tomato soup.

Grilled cheese is something that never SOUNDS good, so I don't make it often. But when I do, it's more satisfying than expected. I do like tomato soup... but I am not a dunker. I don't want a soggy sandwich or crumbs in my soup.

We do have tomato bisque soup with grilled cheese sandwiches throughout the year. Neither of us dunk the sandwich!

Same here. This combo was not something I was aware of until maybe this century. I can understand the dunking because it starts to become a distant cousin to pizza (the PERFECT food) but I'm not really a dunker of anything.

I like them both.
But I don't eat too much of either because of carb content.
I splurge on Campbell's tomato soup once in awhile. Grilled cheese very seldom.
I would rather have cheese melted on a low carb tortilla.
Never dunk. I don't dunk anything.

I wish it was 90 here, but we're in a heat wave and it will be 110-113 in the coming days

Love this combination - it’s an anytime staple for nights I don’t want to cook. We had it on Monday night, most recently. Yes, I dunk - I didn’t know it was optional.

I lean towards grilled cheese + tomato soup during the cooler times of the year. I absolutely LOVE having tomato soup and grilled cheese. I am most definitely a dunker!
