My most favorite way to eat tacos is a fried shell. Fried in Crisco, actually. Any soft shell is delicious this way.

Then I prefer fry bread. Then hard corn ones.

I am not a huge fan of soft shell, as they come. But, I do enjoy them warmed up on a burner, to give it some char. If I am going to eat a soft shell (flour), I have to throw some crunchy chips within, otherwise, the texture gags me. I will eat softshell corn all day, though.

I am VERY particular and serious about my tacos. They have been my favorite food since I started eating - it is in my baby book about how I was obsessed with them. They are the epitome of the perfect food for me!
 
Tacos aren’t one of my favorite things so I don’t make it often. We did actually have them last night. I bought the box that had hard shells only. We all like them the best although my family would eat either. I only eat the hard shells.
If I make them at home (easy and both DH and DS like them), I get the box that has both kinds of shells. I actually think it's a pretty neat product. Nice to have the variety without having to buy large quantities of both types separately. :goodvibes
 
I put in soft flour and soft corn, but also put in 'other' because it's only the freshly made ones that make the cut. All of the grocery stores here sell fresh made flour tortillas that are on par with what you'll find at most Mexican and Tex Mex places. They're so good that people will often buy them to just snack on the tortillas.

While the stores only seem to produce fresh flour and buttery flour tortillas, a number of the restaurants will hand make their corn tortillas, which is also night and day over the prepackaged stuff. We don't bother with hard tacos as they're too messy.
 

Voted soft flour but will eat hard shell as well. DW isn't a fan so we don't have them very often. On a related note our local taco food truck is opening an in-house kitchen at a brewery nearby so I'll be heading there next time I'm home alone.
 
I vote hard because if it’s hard then it’s usually GF, ordering soft at a restaurant I don’t always know if it’s flour or corn. The soft corn tend to fall apart so easily, unless they have a fried layer of cheese on the outside and then they are amazing.
 
I prefer soft flour most of the time.

There's a taco place by us that does my favorite style (albeit, not the healthiest option :o ) - it a hard shell inside wrapped with a soft shell and the two shells are "glued" together with queso. 🤤

Love flour, but usually buy low carb for home. I have learned to like the soft corn tortillas for certain tacos -- like shrimp with a slaw.
 
I don't discriminate when it comes to tacos. I like both kinds of shells. I never really payed attention to low carb/corn/etc.

As of now the poll shows that four people don't eat tacos.

I generally like hard shell better, particularly for beef tacos. But if I am eating shrimp or fish, those have to be soft. I almost always have mission low carb flour tortillas around and my family likes those better for everything. I also have bought raw tortillas and cooked those just before serving and those really elevate soft tortillas in my mind. My family likes those too.
 
Soft shell but the ones shaped like a little boat. I can’t stand when I’m eating them and everything falls out🤣. Those seem to keep everything in the best.
 
I take a flour tortilla and sprinkle cheese on it...microwave it until the cheese is melted...wrap it around a nacho cheese hard shell and fill

I’m like you, @slo I decide what type of taco depending on the filling and whether I’m in a restaurant or at home. 🤔
 
Hard shell - specifically the ones that are Bold Nacho flavored…
 
I like corn tortillas but can eat either hard or soft ones for tacos. I like flour tortillas for other things, like quesadillas.
 
Prefer hard corn shells but you wouldn't have to twist my arm to eat a soft taco.
 
I like both but tend to buy hard shells more often, particularly the stand and stuff. I think that started because the hard shells tended to have longer expiration dates than the soft versions.
