So we moved in July, away from nearly all friends and family. I've been trying to keep in touch through cards. I also sent Thanksgiving cards.

I MEANT to send Christmas cards out, but I made the mistake of listening to a front desk clerk at a Chicago hotel (Intercontinental Hotel on Michigan Avenue -- this one's for YOU), who PROMISED to put the cards (addressed and stamped) in the drop box and apparently never did.

So, I sent almost 50 Valentine's cards out to friends and family last week. Just something nice to get in the mail. I've already bought my Easter cards. Doesn't really take long to do (I filled them out while watching TV), and it makes some people smile.

Yes!!! I LOVE Valentines Day! It should be every day. 💕💘💝💌💗

I give cards & gifts to my hubby. He’s a big hunka love! I skip over my kids and give/send fun packages to my grandkids. 💌💘💝❤️💕

My girlfriend group also does a Galentines party. We had that on Weds. It’s a coffee and cookie party to celebrate women’s friendships. Gotta have good people in your life!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY, Disboards peeps! 💝

I don’t give cards anymore. DH and I went out to dinner a couple nights ago, and early Valentine celebration. We prefer doing that instead of cards and candy.

No cards, we're not really into Valentines day. Or cards. We would do a small gift for the kids when they were little and of course the classroom valentine exchanges. But we don't exchange anything or have any special meal or anything like that.

I buy cards at the Dollar Store or Dollar Tree. They're nice quality but not near as expensive. This year, I bought a card and a box of little gummi bear valentines for DH. I left the 25 packs all over the house, starting with the coffee pot this morning. He's already texted to tell me that it's like Easter, but Valentine's. :rotfl2:

My wife and I haven't exchanged Valentines Day cards, or gifts, in over 40 years. Like you said @slo she knows I love her and I know she loves me!

However, we do now give Valentines Day cards to our grandchildren along with some candy.

I only purchased two Valentine’s Day cards this year. But I did buy lots of little treats for a few dozen younger kids I see today. I figured they would prefer that over a card!

I usually send e-cards for any holiday. The only time I buy physical cards is if I am giving a gift card or cash and need something to put it in. Valentine’s Day is not typically a physical card day.

Happy Valentine's Day, Everyone!!

I'm same as @slo -- no cards from me because they are tossed too quickly and it seems wasteful. DH always has a nice card for me.

I'm seeing grandkids this year, so will have a small token gift for them and for DD -- more of a hostess gift than anything.

I typically send Christmas and birthday cards to my extended family. I also used to send Valentines, Halloween, Easter etc. but now everyone just sends texts (if that). The price of cards is getting ridiculous, especially Valentines so no more. My husband always gets me a card, which I appreciate.

My sister has a part time gig stocking cards for Target, CVS and her grocery store. She tells me that within a day or two after any holiday the store wants no evidence of it. All of those high-priced cards are trashed! If they were less expensive they would sell more and all that goes into producing, delivering and distributing them would be so much less wasteful.

I did not get a card this year....definitely not from the husband since I served him a special arly anniversary gift last year. I did not send him a card this year....wicked witch in law hates him doing any communication.
My parents used to do cards...not sure they did a card exchange this morning... they exchanged many cards between themselves in their almost 55 years of mariage.

We stopped giving each other cards for anything years ago. Heck one year he gave me the same card. I know this because I did save all his cards.

I told him he could always go in the drawer and pick one out , save some money…lol

We were going to go out for lunch today, looked at all the snow and said nah… we did open a box of candy we got for Christmas.

No, not this year. Some years, DH and I will exchange cards, but not this years. He was on a solo trip to WDW....hopefully will be back today, and can celebrate this weekend.
Some years will get kids some candy or something, but I'd not ever heard of that until recently. Lots of the grown kids' friends were getting all kinds of stuff from parents, candy, etc. I had no idea. We did not as teens/older adults get Valentine's stuff from parents.
