When taking something for pain, what is your go to pain reliever?
(multiple choice)

*The choices can also be generic/store brand

For Me….
Aleve - 0% of the time
Aspirin - 10% of the time
Advil - 10% of the time
Tylenol - 60% of the time
Tylenol PM - 20% of the time

Due to my UC I can’t take Aleve and I can only take Advil if I’m really desperate. Aspirin is ok if I’m in remission, but if I come out of remission then Aspirin is bad. So, Tylenol has to be my pain reliever of choice.

*Inspiration for today’s poll is DD19 and I going to WalMart this morning to buy her pain relievers to take to college. Just when we think we have it all, we think of something else we forgot.

Luckily I don’t take a pain reliever often but when I do it is probably half advil and half the time Tylenol. I buy generic brands for both. I also have generic Aleve in the house but dh is the only one who takes that and he only does for really bad headaches. I also chose other as I take two baby aspirin a day (again generic) but not for pain.

Alieve is my go to - I buy store brand ( whichever store I’m in - Target /Walmart )
I never use Tylenol and I’m way past Advil
If it’s too much I take my prescription Naproxen or something else depending on the pain - I have spinal injury
First line of defense for Headache - Excedrin - again store brand - unless migraine - then I have medicine for that
If I need nighttime sleep help - either Alieve PM or Excedrin PM and again store brand - no prescription for this - if it does not work I don’t sleep ( often the case )

Grab a first aid kit SLO - that way Katie will have little but if everything for small needs - manicure kit too ! Don’t forget dental needs ! It’s just so much !!! Just walk down the aisle and grab one of everything 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Happy Shopping !!! Your a great Mom !!!

I can't take any NSAIDS, so it's Tylenol only.
However, I can take Vanquish even though there's aspirin in it.
It really helps my headaches.

I haven’t took any pain medicine since December. What I did I eat a salad a day every day and some fruit. It does wonders when you eat right.

Acetaminophen. And not very often, I take enough other meds, ha. My cardiologist has told me not to take any of the others, all NSAIDs, and not good for the heart. So, in the rare times I take a pain reliever, it is generic Tylenol.

I usually go for Aleve, but will use Tylenol or ibuprofen if that's what's available. I keep a bottle of Aleve in my purse.

I usually only take Advil/ibuprofen. It works really well for my occasional tension headaches or if I'm really sore after exercise.

I usually go with Ibuprofen. Interestingly, I am slightly allergic to Naproxen as I once ha da prescritpion strength dose as directed by my doctor, however it caused a small blister on my skin that left a permanently dicolored spot. Apparently that can happen.

General aches and pains (most of which include inflammation) are always treated with ibuprofen. A simple headache or fever is acetaminophen. For dental pain I do both at once (a little tip my dentist offered years ago) or alternate them every 6 hours. It can be a very effective way to control pain without going to something stronger.

Whatever is nearest at the time. I think we have Ibuprofen mostly, but any of the above are fine with me.
