I can't remember ever having mayonnaise on a burger. Nor would I ever purposely put it on a bun. But I could see where it would be okay on a toasted bun with lettuce and tomato. :)

Love mayo on a burger.
Always at home with mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion.
Out however it comes but I do ask for no ketchup

NO, but I'll eat it. If I have the opportunity I will scrape it off.
This reminds me of a recent trip to a local drive in. I ordered a larger burger for myself which I do not do normally. I got home and saw it was smothered with mayo. I was happy I could take a knife and get rid of most of it. I like everything else though: K/M/O/P/L/T cheese and/or bacon

I don’t think I’ve ever had a burger with mayo. I’m not a big fan of mayo so I’d never do this. My daughter’s fiancé does and when they were here last week she started putting it on too. My dh and son don’t use mayo on burgers either.

I love mayo on my burger. And to dip fries in as well. Also on a good fresh-from the garden summer tomato sandwich on white bread. Or on a lightly toasted BLT (with plant-based bacon). Should be Duke's mayo. Hellmann's will do as a backup brand.

Now that restaurants won't let you choose how you like your burger "done" I always get mayo on it. I prefer my burgers medium rare and none of the local places will let you do this; apparently grown adults can't acknowledge that they are willing to risk food poisoning to eat their food the way they like. Consequently, I need mayo AND ketchup on my burger to eat that dry, hard, medium-well burger. (Actually, if I cannot get a burger cooked the way I want it, I order something else or go someplace else. No use spending money on food I have to choke down!)

I dislike mayo and will scrape it off (while muttering and fussing to myself) if it’s on there. At that point it becomes food I will eat, but not really enjoy.

I use mayo if there is lettuce and tomato. None if not.

But I HATE mustard on burgers. Love mustard. On sandwiches, brats, hot dogs. NOT burgers. I don't know why, but it's just awful to me.

Eeh...I don't really care about mayo. I don't actively use it but won't turn away a perfectly good burger/sandwich that has. Onions or pickles on the other hand, absolute abominations and I will remove them while muttering under my breathe like an old bat. 🤣

Mayo does not belong on hot foods. Not burgers. Not hot dogs (yes people put it on hot dogs), chicken sandwiches or anything hot.

I will put mayo on a Turkey Sandwich (occasionally) and of course Tuna Salad (which I rarely eat).

Agreed. I like pickles on their own, but not mixed with anything else. Then it all just tastes like pickle.
Especially when they've been warmed by being put on a hot burger! A nice cold pickle spear on the side is perfectly acceptable. And yeah! The pickle flavor just over whelms everything, even if you physically remove it.

The trick to using pickles is that they have to be dried off and used sparingly. Like the one pickle on a Chick-fil-A sandwich does not overpower the whole thing, but it is key to the flavor. If you just slop them on and soak everything in the brine, then yeah, they can hinder the taste of other things.

Don’t think I’ve ever had it. I like ketchup and relish. Add-ons like cheese, tomato, lettuce, and onions are fine too. Maybe it’s regional? I don’t know of any restaurants that serve burgers with mayo, and no one here puts mustard on burgers either. The only thing close would be McDonald’s “special sauce” which contains mayo, but is more similar to Thousand Island dressing.

Chick-fil-A is my prime example for hating pickles on sandwiches. 😄 Since they don't use any condiments, the bread just soaks all the pickle juice up and removing the pickle doesn't remove all the pickle taste. I hate it! At least at Popeye's they use mayo, which limits the pickle contamination.
