I can't remember ever having mayonnaise on a burger. Nor would I ever purposely put it on a bun. But I could see where it would be okay on a toasted bun with lettuce and tomato.

This. If I forget to order an item without it, I’ll scrape it off.Yuck. No. But I don’t like mayo at all.
Agreed. I like pickles on their own, but not mixed with anything else. Then it all just tastes like pickle.Onions or pickles on the other hand, absolute abominations and I will remove them while muttering under my breathe like an old bat.![]()
Especially when they've been warmed by being put on a hot burger! A nice cold pickle spear on the side is perfectly acceptable. And yeah! The pickle flavor just over whelms everything, even if you physically remove it.Agreed. I like pickles on their own, but not mixed with anything else. Then it all just tastes like pickle.

Chick-fil-A is my prime example for hating pickles on sandwiches. The trick to using pickles is that they have to be dried off and used sparingly. Like the one pickle on a Chick-fil-A sandwich does not overpower the whole thing, but it is key to the flavor. If you just slop them on and soak everything in the brine, then yeah, they can hinder the taste of other things.
