what is this world of disney currency? i have never heard of it. In usa, company can issue their own money? how did disney company deal with exchange rate? did it change every day?

I bought a few Disney dollars several years ago as a novelty. They specifically state they can ONLY be used @ DL or DW so that avoids any issues with trying to sell a currency. It can't be used elsewhere.

I have a few in a scrapbook from our Disney trip when I was in elementary school.

I was surprised recently when my nephew told me he still has some I gave him when he was a kid for a family trip to DL. I'd forgotten all about that.

Each trip with kids young we gave them each @ $30-40 in Disney Dollars that was for their souvenirs. They all got pretty smart about window shopping all week and waiting until last days to make their final buys. Often if hotel had a big store they might shop there. I still have a few items they bought decades ago. And Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles would give them Disney Dollars.

I still have some, likely more in my boxes of Disney stuff. But the few I know where they are at are tucked in the frame with some of my Disney stock certificates.
