Yum, sliced with tomato, red onion, oil & vinegar.

Can't say I have ever even seen the creamy sort.
I make one like that in the Summer for some family events. I am not a fan of tomato so use cherry/grape tomatoes in my salad to make it easier to avoid them. I use Rice Wine Vinegar instead of regular.

We make a cucumber salad with tomatoes, onions, and a vinegar/oil dressing. I've never had the creamy kind. My daughter and I love it. My husband hates cucumbers so he never eats it. (He likes pickles though. Shrug.)

I just mix sliced cucumbers with sour cream, salt and pepper. Not really a proper salad, but it's how we like it.

This was a staple side dish in our family. My mother was Finnish and it is popular there. She made it creamy — usually sour cream and white wine vinegar. If no sour cream in the house, she used mayonnaise. She usually put chopped scallions in it.
My SIL had never had it and asked for the recipe. So simple and complements many dishes.

I like cucumber but it does not like me! Guaranteed to repeat on me if I eat it.

I don't eat cucumber salad. I don't really like cucumbers. If they are sliced and already on a salad, I will eat them however.

Love cucumber salad.

Mostly with onions in a vinegar, sugar, and dill dressing. When local tomatoes are in season i sometimes add them too. In those cases the dressing is bottled Italian.

Once or twice a year the dressing is sour cream based.

When I was a kid I didn’t believe that pickles started out as cucumbers.

If I'm making a cucumber salad, I typically make mine with Asian ingredients (sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili, etc).

My kids have always eaten cucumbers dipped in apple cider vinegar as a snack or with their lunch for school when they were little. I suppose that is the simplest version of a cucumber salad.

I have never eaten or seen a creamy version until recently. Several different recipes for creamy cucumber and radish salads have been popping up as suggestions for me, but I haven't tried it yet.

My mother made it with just cucumbers and sour cream and for years that's the only way I have had it. I have since had non creamy which is ok but I prefer creamy. My MIL makes it with hard boiled eggs and mayo and that's my fave now. I eat a lot of cucumbers these days. I used to cut them up and dip them in ranch but now I just pour the ranch over them and eat it like a salad.

Cucumbers are one of my least favorite foods, unfortunately. I wish I liked them as they are so healthy!

I ❤️ Cucumber salad, both creamy and non. Make it sometimes during the summer.

Slo, could you still eat it if you remove the seeds in the cucumber?
I’m just seeing this now - sorry for the delay.

Removing the seeds may help a little, but there’s something about raw veggies that I can’t digest well - it makes my UC very angry. The infusion I get now may help me digest things a little better, but I’m way to scared to try. I’ve had some scary downward spirals in the past that I don’t want to repeat. If I have one little piece of cucumber I will be fine, but anything more than that may be a bad day for me.

not sure I've ever had creamy. My grandmother used to make a vinegar based one that I still miss. I make cucumber/tomato salads with a store bought vinegar based dressing pretty often.
