Do you live somewhere that requires you to have a winter coat?
If yes…..How many winter coats do you have?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..I live in the Chicago area, so winter coats are a must.
I gotta say, we have an excessive amount of winter coats around here - ones we actually use and ones that have sentimental value (letterman’s jackets, F.D. jackets (my DH is a retired volunteer fireman) and more). This past weekend I removed 8 that had no more value to us a donated them, but there’s still a lot and they take up a lot of room. To answer my own question….I have 8 and I use them all regularly depending on what I’m wearing and where I’m going.

I live in Western NY so a winter coat is needed. I personally have 3 winter coats - differing thickness. My husband has a coat problem. He is a big guy so when he finds something in 3XLT and it is a good price he buys it. Last count he had 6 coats. My kids each have 2 as well. Again one heavier and one lighter. So total winter coats in my house are 15 at least.

I have 2 winter coats, but many lightweight and rain coats. Most of them have been given as gifts. Can't remember the last time I had to buy a coat. My family apparently has a fear of me being cold. :-) I need to give some away and feel very fortunate for that.

I live where I don't need one.....but I have a couple. 2 I think. Used for travel and left from when we did live in a cold winter climate.
I have several light jackets too and a lot of sweatshirts (which is what I mainly wear out in winter)

Three. One down puffer coat that I wear most of the time. One heavier Lands End coat for very cold weather or snow at my house and I have another older similar coat that I leave at my parents house just in case.

I live where a winter coat is needed. I have 2. One I wear almost daily during the winter and another one that is a much heavier, longer LL Bean coat that I wear depending on weather conditions or if I’ll be outside for an extended period. I have another mid weight coat I wear in the spring, because it doesn’t get really warm here until mid to late May.

I live in Georgia, you wouldn't think we need one but it gets cold on and off during the winter. We had some days this Dec. where it was in the 20s as a high. Yes, I own more winter coats then I should but when I worked outside the home I liked to sort of match them to my outfits. I have 3 leather ones -2 brown bombers and one black coat. One of the bombers was actually my sons when he was a pre-teen so I keep it for that. I have one coat that my Mama made me so can't get rid of that. One pea coat and since my Daddy and my son were in the Navy have to keep that. And one just because it was pretty coat. I actually wore all of them this year. O.K. it was just one a day each and it was just to take the dog out but still.

I live in the Carolinas - so I don’t necessarily ‘need’ a winter coat but I have 2 that I’ve had for years.

I am in Kentucky - normally we need winter coats here - this winter we have hardly needed one. I have 3 coats. A North Face fleece one that I wear most all the time and 2 dressier wool coats.

I have one winter coat, a really good one from LLBean. It gets cold in Maine in the winter! I have lined hoodies, hooded heavy sweaters, etc. that I layer in fall and spring. Right now? CuddleDuds (tops and bottoms) under my sweater and jeans, and sometimes a hoodie, before the winter coat goes on. It's cold, and I'm not a big fan...

Sadly to say I live where you need one - we get very cold and get that nasty ❄️❄️❄️ being cold natured I have TONS of winter coats - different levels of thickness - more than half bought at Disney ( yes the sell winter coats ) our last brutal very cold spell I was wearing two to take the dog outside it was so cold !! Close to zero with negative wind chills.
I have one winter coat I don’t wear often - dress winter coat in case I have to dress nice and go somewhere I have fancy long winter coat for that otherwise I rotate my coats depending on the temp and how much clothing I’m wearing - always at least two shirts one being cuddle dud - sweatshirt - then maybe a sweater - if I’m in the office lightweight coat as boss keeps it at 65 - with blanket wrapped around me with my space heater on 😎
I hate winter !!! ❄️

Western Pennsylvania. We don't have cold enough winter for a heavy winter coat as single digit temperatures are a thing, it's not a regular long going event. If it's not single digit temps, I just have a thin flannel or a thin nicer looking jacket. I shovel the snow from my driveway in shorts and a t-shirt when I get home from work. I hardly ever need to dress up for the cold.

I have 5+ winter coats, but only 4 that make it into regular rotation. 3 of them are the same coat, just different colors to coordinate with my attire. Then I have a dressy wool peacoat for fancier occasions.

The others do get used, just not regularly.

I have 3 winter coats.

One I wear everyday, it was my son’s when he out grew it. It is an Hurley one I believe. I love it because it is a snow board coat so vey thin but with my hoodie under it it’s perfect for walking . Most times I can go with out the hoodie. We also use my son’s boots from grade 4 to go out and shovel easy to slip on and off….lol My son is 6’4 so he had big feet and boots were like brand new when he out grew them.

My husband bought me a puffer on from Eddie Bauer. It is short and don’t wear it often . Great to take if we go away because you can ball it up in a bag put in suitcase for when we come back to the cold.

Third one is my long dress coat.

We are in South Florida so no need for a winter coat but we do each have one for travel. My in-laws live in OH, my sister in law is in Chicago... so we do some cold weather trips.

I guess I have three that I would consider 'winter' coats. My go-to daily one, a ski jacket and a wool overcoat that I wear like once a year to a formal event. I have a couple other coats that are reasonably warm, but mostly used in fall/spring.
