This holiday is something we all have in common. It doesn’t matter what country you live in, what religion you do or don’t practice, at what stage you are in your life, we all wave goodbye to 2024 tonight.

Instead of a poll, I wanted to take a moment to wish you all a very Happy New Year. Some of you I’ve known many many years, some I’ve met in person, some it feels like I’ve met in person, some I’ve known for a short time and some I barely know or don’t know at all. Regardless of my relationship with you, I wish you PEACE and MANY BLESSINGS in 2025

I also want to take a moment to thank you all for participating in my fun and silly polls throughout the year. As I’ve mentioned in the past, I post these around 5:30am and then I’m not on The DIS much after that. I have Ths DIS on my phone, so throughout the day I do look at everyone’s replies. Sometimes I have time to reply, especially on some days that are less busy than others. I always appreciate everyone’s participation and it’s nice to see DISers bond and have fun with the topics

I also want to thank you all for keeping the polls a drama free zone - you have no idea how much I appreciate this. I want the polls to be a fun and safe place to post. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Whatever you are doing today - be safe, have fun and when the ball drops at midnight, I’ll be thinking of you all and wishing you a Happy New Year

Yes, I love the polls that start out as which is your favorite candy and 8 choices. Then 10 pages later, people have mentioned candy from the last 40 years and who remembers what and by now 50 candies have been mentioned.

Happy New Year to everyone here on the DIS! @slo As so many have said, I get my morning coffee, look for and answer your poll, and then (if there's time) hop over to @PollyannaMom 's gratitude thread. Thank you so much for taking the time to keep our little community connected! I appreciate everyone's friendship here, even when things get heated. My family, also, used to chuckle when they'd hear me talk about my DISfriends, but as the world grows smaller and people grow closer through the internet, they understand, more and more.
