Cranberry Sauce is a staple for many people’s holiday dinner table. Some of us had it for Thanksgiving and will have it again throughout the month of December. Then there’s some of us that wouldn’t touch it with a 10ft pole :crazy2:. For those that don’t know much about the two cranberry sauces, here ya go…..

Now that you got a little cranberry sauce lesson, you can give us your saucey good answer today……

Do you eat cranberry sauce?
If yes….what is your opinion of it?
If yes….do you prefer jellied or whole?
Do you eat it throughout the year, or holiday time only?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..OK - here’s my answers:
Yes, but barely - I eat very little
My opinion - I’m not a fan. I’ve tried to like it, but I just can’t do it. It is edible though
Jellied - I use this when I make my little turkey sliders on Thanksgiving weekend
Thanksgiving only - I never buy it any other time throughout the year.

I still have both jellied and whole leftover in my fridge that are going into the garbage disposal tonight. I buy the jellied for my little sliders, and I do like the sauce on those. I buy the whole sauce for others on Thanksgiving. I often wonder who came up with the idea that cranberry sauce is something to serve with holiday meals - who made that decision? Enquirering minds want to know :scratchin

I love cranberry sauce I prefer jelly from the can and have most of my life with that being said I had to make homemade cranberry sauce my whole life because my parents loved homemade cranberry sauce as a child I hated it As an adult I’ve grown to love it don’t get me wrong I still prefer the jelly but I will make homemade cranberry sauce and I will enjoy it tremendously but if I’m having turkey dinner it’s jelly cranberry sauce
I eat cranberry sauce all year long I eat it with other things besides turkey
It’s one of the foods I’m not supposed to be eating with the condition I have so I don’t eat a lot of of it but I still eat it because I like it so much

I wouldn’t say I love it, but I’m not a fan of most traditional Thanksgiving foods… but cranberry sauce is one of the better things on the plate. I don’t crave it at other times but I do like it at Thanksgiving.

We go to my in-laws’ on Thanksgiving and they serve jellied. Jellied is very consistent. I’ve had some whole-cranberry sauces that are better than the jellied and some that… aren’t. With jellied you always know what you’re going to get.

I love jellied cranberry sauce. I get cans of it and then eat it as an evening snack.
I can’t imagine a turkey dinner without cranberries - what does turkey even taste like if you eat it plain? I prefer whole berry but canned is just fine. And like you, our DS often chooses to polish off the bowl after supper instead of having dessert.

As to the secondary question, I serve it all through the year with certain chicken breast recipes or if I get a rotisserie chicken and use it quite often in baking. A white chocolate cheesecake with cranberry swirl is always a hit during the holidays.

I can eat it, DIL only has the canned jelly kind (I think she is the only one that eats it).....which I do not like at all, so I don't eat it anymore.
I prefer home made whole. Maybe I will make some next year.

I like simple, homemade whole cranberry sauce. I used up the rest of ours from Thanksgiving in the crockpot w/ a small pork roast this AM. Also serve it with schnitzel. Use frozen whole cranberries in champagne to help keep it cold this time of year as well.

I like cranberry sauce. Really only have it at holidays. My DIL Katlyn makes a really good sauce, whole berry. I asked her last week what she puts in it, she said cranberries, orange marmalade and two other ingredients that I forgot now. Its very good.

I do like Craisins during the year, typically in oatmeal or in a salad.

Ocean Spray?

I love whole cranberry sauce. I always make it for Thanksgiving from fresh cranberries with a little orange zest added to the sugar and water. I should eat it more often but seem to only eat it with turkey.

Mom made hers, but not a fan of cranberry.

For my family they like whole cranberries in a can on holidays. My husband loves getting the cranberry square when we are on our Disney cruises.

If it comes with a meal I just transfer it to my husbands plate…lol

I like it quite a lot, I'll eat the canned version but I typically make it myself:)

I'd put myself in the category of like (not love) and I prefer whole berried sauce, but would eat canned if that's what was made available.
