Last night was a A Very Barry Christmas on NBC, that I totally forgot about, until a facebook friend posted that they watched it. Thank goodness I have peacock so I can stream it. So I’m wondering today….

What is your opinion of Barry Manilow?

For Me……I love Barry Manilow - I always have. My wonderful DH took me to see him about 10 years ago (he is not a Barry Manilow fan - LOL) and then I took my mom to see him about 5 years ago. I think he’s great! I’m looking forward to watching his special sometime this week or weekend

I do enjoy his singing I believe I have one of his albums and I do mean album bought it when I was a teenager you know 100 years ago
I didn’t know he had a special on last night or I would’ve watched it

People magazine had a nice article about him recently. He is a very good performer probably not up there in the Beatles, Elvis and Taylor (thread) category but good.

I remember playing Copacabana, Mandy, and Even Now in band in middle school. Our band director must've been a big fan. Mostly remember Copacabana, but a lot of his songs are great fun, and I do very much enjoy hearing them. Lots of classics.
Didn't watch the Christmas special, but I'm not a fan of those in general.

I like him. I have an older sibling that had his albums growing up so I know all his older songs. Didn’t know he had a special on but probably wouldn’t have watched it.

My first thought when presented with the question of liking Barry Manilow would be - sure, why not. Would I watch the special, probably not. Barry had/has his place just like other artists - but can’t summon anything beyond indifference to his music

Barry was never on my radar. I think my generation just missed him or I did. Don't know. I don't have an issue with him personally, he's just not really my jam.

I like him and have enjoyed his music over the years. We currently don’t have NBC as DirecTV is in a dispute with our NBC affiliate, but our college kids have Peacock, so I might catch his special over the holidays.

Always liked his popular tunes in the past. Watched a bit of the show last night I believe it was taped in LasVegas, perhaps he was doing a series of shows there. Many of the popular singers/bands from the 70's or 80's are now past their prime and can't sing nearly as well as in the past. Probably many who attend those concerts do it more from a sense of nostalgia than anything else.

My mom's favorite singer of all time, so I grew up listening to his music. He's fine - not someone I go out of my way to listen to, but perfectly ok.

My mom was a big fan so I grew up with his music. We did watch his special since it was after the Voice and heavily advertised. Set it for the dvr as well so might rewatch it again. Had we not seen the advertisements and after the Voice it's possible we wouldn't have watched it.

It was a nice special for the nostalgia.

I can remember when he became really popular in the mid 70’s. I think I was in 8th grade. He was just ok to be then and even less now.

I love Barry! I was lucky enough to see him play the Houston Rodeo back in 2001. My husband slept through most of it, but I had a great time. I did not watch the special since Barry also performed at the Rockefeller Center tree lighting show this year and I think the rest of the family got their fill of Barry for the holidays that night. I will go back and watch the special on my own at some point.
