Happy Tuesday of Thanksgiving Week
I’m headed to the store this morning to buy the cranberry sauce I forgot to buy last week. I’m going at 7am, so hopefully the craziness won’t be to crazy yet. My family enjoys cranberry sauce, but are divided in the type, so I buy whole for some and jellied for others. I have friends that make homemade jelly cranberry sauce - one day I should give that a try. Until then I’ll stick with the canned. How about you? Give us your berry answer today…….

What’s your opinion of cranberry sauce?
If you like it, do you like it canned or homemade?
Do you like it jelly or whole?
(Multiple-choice)

For Me…… I’m not a big fan of cranberry sauce, so I actually don’t eat it, which is why it’s so easy for me to forget to buy it at the store. I am going to try a new recipe on Sunday with the leftover turkey - it’s turkey sliders, and it has jellied cranberry sauce on them, so I’m going to use the leftover cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving for that. I’ll be ok with cranberry sauce on those sandwiches because it’s part of a recipe, I just don’t care to eat it by itself.

I don't like cranberry sauce.
I like other cranberry things though. I will be making a cranberry salad for TG

I enjoy whole berry canned cranberry sauce, and we have it with chicken many times each year. I make cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving, and I also have canned jellied for those that prefer it that way.

If it’s in a can I like jelly not whole
I often make my own and I’ll make that whenever I can get fresh cranberries one of the easiest recipes ever to make you should try it SLO !!
Absolutely love cranberry sauce I’ll eat it all the time
Love making a turkey sandwich and putting a little cranberry sauce on it
Let us know how much you enjoy those sliders SLO !!!

I always have a can to put out in case someone wants it, but I usually forget to put it out and nobody says anything or seems to notice. I do like it though.

Not a fan and neither is DH or my brother so I'm not serving it.

I like homemade cranberry sauce, and I think it adds a little something something to my plate of Thanksgiving favorites. We always have it on our table, but I do not eat it at other times of the year.

Growing up, my mom always insisted on having the jelly in a can variety. She was the only one who ate it. Now she’s a fan of the homemade.

This is the recipe I've used for the past 10+ years:

We doubled the recipe and it and almost filled two Ball quart jars.

Homemade cranberry sauce is the easiest dish to make for T Day. I make it every year and doubt the recipe is ever the same because I use no written recipe. Lately, I’ve been making chutney style with lots of warm spices and other fruits and sometimes, nuts, added in.

There was only one family member who insisted on canned jelly style- younger sister. A small unopened can was always placed at her place setting so she’d have the joy of opening it herself. Just as a point of reference she also ate chicken tenders shaped like dinosaurs, and Taco Bell; every family needs a rebel.

I love cranberry sauce. I make my own cranberry orange sauce and can it so I have it all year. It is one of the most requested canned items from my friends when they raid my stash of homemade canned goods.

I love cranberry sauce! I like it either way, but I like whole cranberry sauce the best. I went ahead and got a can of it to take to Thanksgiving with me in case my MIL forgets it again... I have to have cranberry!
:thumbsup2Good call! It’s not a turkey dinner without the cranberries. They’re the perfect compliment to the meat, sage and onion flavours that are prevalent. It would be like trying to eat fish without a hit of lemon. Edible but really missing out on the kick.

I like cranberry sauce good enough. A couple times a year. My DIL makes a great homemade sauce, kind of chunky, with some chopped nuts in it. I'm looking forward to some of that on Thursday.

I'm new to the cranberry scene. I made it homemade for years but never touched the stuff until a few years ago and had it w/ some schnitzel and realized what I had been missing. So now I make it AND enjoy it. We do the canned stuff for Thanksgiving as well - that I still don't touch

I like it and serve it on Thanksgiving. Kids never did. DH didn't like it until I made it fresh. I LOVE it on post-Thanksgiving turkey and cranberry sauce sandwiches.

A bit bittersweet this year. I have a 200+ year old crystal bowl that I used to serve cranberry sauce in (a 90-year old friend gave it to us for our wedding nearly 35 years ago, and it had been given to her great grandmother for her wedding). Unfortunately, we moved this summer and it was one of the things that didn't survive. I mended it with clear gorilla glue, but I don't think it's servable. The lady who gave it to us said her grandmother had always served cranberry sauce in it for holidays, so I had carried on the tradition.

One of those things that I have 20/20 hindsight about -- I should've brought the breakables in the car with us (although none of my crystal glasses were broken).
