I think aprons don’t get enough love and I’m not sure why. Don’t get me wrong, I used to not wear an apron, and take my chances, but eventually I got tired of getting splatters on my clothes. I bought my first apron 10 years ago, and I wear it faithfully almost every time I cook. I even wear it if my DH cooks, because I don’t want to get anything on my clothes when I help him clean up. My grandma, my mom and my MIL never wore an apron, and my mom & MIL are always so surprised that I love my apron as much as I do. This got me thinking about all of you. I’m curious if any of you enjoy wearing an apron like I do. Let’s find out…..

Do you wear an apron when you cook?
If yes…..how often do you wear it?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..I wear my apron about 90% of the time when I cook. If I’m wearing clothes that are kinda junky, then I won’t wear it. But if I’m wearing clothes I do care about, my apron will always be on. I have several aprons, but I only wear one. My DD27 bought me a beautiful apron with Disney Princesses on it about 5 years ago and since it’s white, I hesitate to use it. So it just hangs there and I enjoy looking at it. I can honestly say that this apron was the nicest thing she ever gave me, so I don’t want to ruin it. My mom & MIL are always giving me aprons, but I don’t like them, so I just say thank you and put them in the closet. The apron I wear all the time I bought on Amazon and it’s perfect for me. I love the length, the thickness, the color and the pocket in front - an apron has to have a pocket for me. I don’t like cooking with jewelry on, so I put my jewelry in my apron pocket. I really do love my apron - I haven’t ruined a single piece of clothing since I’ve been wearing it.

Now that my DD22 lives on her own, she now wears an apron a lot. She saw an apron at the gift shop at Tianna’s Bayou Adventure and wanted that, so I surprised her with it for her birthday. Many times she FaceTimes me when she’s preparing dinner and she’s wearing it. That apron is pretty fun and I think they still sell it there if anyone is interested.

I wear one only when I'm cooking something that can splatter grease/butter. Usually it's pancakes, french toast, fried plantains, or similar. So a really minuscule amount of the time.

Love aprons I have probably about 15 of them they go back to when I was a little kid we made them at home Econ I have bought them when I see them at garage sales estate sales how come I have so many
Just like you I wear them probably about 90% of the time and if I have junk clothes on I don’t care but otherwise I have my apron on
I saw the cutest apron it was Mickey it was a fall harvest apron at the coves got a year ago I think it was I had to snatch that up it was so adorable and I agree I prefer aprons to have pockets
I prefer a full body apron I don’t like these half aprons I don’t see the point of it 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ it’s the upper body that I need covered more than I need my lower body covered🤣🤣🤣
I had a job in a fast food restaurant when I was really young I still have the apron from that restaurant one of the best aprons I have which makes that apron more than 50 years old

I usually only use one if I make something that splatters, usually fried food or bacon. I saw a cute one last time I was Disney and was tempted to buy it, but I opted for a French rolling pin instead. I use it all the time so no regrets on my choice.

I wear an apron sometimes, but not too often. I just don't remember to put it on. My only apron is bright blue with Pooh on the front. DD wears aprons a lot; she has several, including a HoneyDukes apron, a Haunted Mansion apron, and the apron I made in 7th grade sewing class in 1967!

When I was in elementary school, my mom made my "teacher gifts" for Christmas and end of the year. One time it'd be a set of pillowcases and the other would be an apron- the kind that ties around the waist to cover between there and the knees, with a terrycloth tea towel attached so you could wipe your hands. I was always embarrassed- the other kids gave much cooler things- but as an adult I would have loved something like this for a teacher gift (instead of the endless stream of mugs and Dunk's gift cards... not that I'm ungrateful, but how many "Best Teacher EVAH!" mugs do you need?)

No I don't but to be fair, hubby cooks 80% of the time. He doesn't wear one either. We do own one, it was a gag gift to him but I don't remember him wearing it. I think maybe Mama wore one if she was dressed up for the holidays but I don't really 100% remember that. I even have a picture of her wearing pearls taking a turkey out of the oven in the late 50s/early 60s and she doesn't have one on. I have two brother's who are chefs and they wear one at work but never at home.

Depends on how much cooking. For grilled cheese sandwich, no. A full sunday dinner with pot roast with vegs, yes. Almost always with baking and having a drying towel hanging off the strings. Washing hands 50 million times.

Way back in the day, worn aprons to hold clothespins when hanging out laundry.

I will wear an apron when I don't want to get splatters on my clothes. One of my aprons is decades old. The other is an adorable apron that I bought in Hollywood Studios. It looks like R2D2. It is so cute that I hate to wear it. ;)

I have an apron, but never wear it.
This. I sure should get in the habit though. I’ve got multiple white tops ruined by tomato sauce or berry juice splatter and I’m currently working on getting grease marks out of a nice black t-shirt after a batch of butter cream got out of hand. :o
