I love lots of real whipped cream on my pumpkin pie.

And when nobody’s looking I’m not adverse to squirting the whipped cream out of the can directly into my mouth.

:lovestrucI like it, and I love whipped cream! Our Thanksgiving celebration got derailed this year so I didn’t get any. Maybe we’ll do a traditional turkey feast for Christmas and have it then.:goodvibes

It's OK. I like other pies a lot better, but if it's all there is, I'll have a small piece with a little whipped cream (canned, tub, fresh...not a deal-breaker for me).

I like pumpkin pie, but I don't love store bought and since I've never been able to perfect my grandmother's pie crust and don't have a pumpkin patch for vine fresh pumpkins...it's just not as good as the pies of my childhood. I often make a crustless pumpkin pie (more of a custard) and I'm not a fan of whipped cream.

It's also not my favorite kind of pie. I would love bourbon pecan, but DD17 is deathly allergic. I don't like to use my equipment to make things with her allergens and storebought is never nearly as good. My second fave is mincemeat, but nobody else will eat it and I don't want to find myself trying to finish off a full pie. Similarly, I don't bother trying to replicate my grandmother's yummy raisin pie. My husband's fave is lemon meringue. I think of that more as a spring/summer pie, but his family has it on all holidays. He prefers his mom's, so I only bother with one if we're not going to spend any holiday time with her.

I am a fan of pumpkin pie. I enjoy it plain or with whipped cream. Though if I do use whipped cream, I make sure that I eat some of the slice plain too!

Love it but only at Thanksgiving. My sister will bring one on Thursday, but my boys like it so much I bought one this past weekend to bake. The more whipped cream the better.

I like pumpkin pie, maybe just under love it a bit. With a few tablespoons of whipped cream. And COSTCO is the best! Nothing like it. Gigantic and very tasty and under 6 bucks. Hard to beat that. And like their whole roast chicken at $5 and their 1/4 pound hot dogs and pop for a buck and a half, they say they will not increase that price. It's been that for all the years we've been members.

To be honest never tried it , but then I don't like anything "pumpkin spice" I do like a large amount of whipped cream on just about anything else, though!

I have never had sweet potato pie - I have a few questions….
Yes, this is :offtopic: LOL!

Is sweet potato pie a dessert, is it served cold?
If someone has sweet potato pie, do they serve regular sweet potatoes too?
So many questions - LOL

Enquiring minds want to know 🙂
Ok so I only eat sweet potato pie warm(even going as far as heating it up)

I suppose some people will eat it cold?

It takes on a different texture/flavor as a pie vs making just mashed or baked sweet potatoes-although if you make a "sweet potato casserole" with the mini marshmallows etc-I guess it's a similar flavor profile?

My in laws do not make sweet potato pie(it was something my dad's side always did) so I haven't had it in years. They also don't do sweet potatoes in general-so if I want them or the pie I have to either find somewhere that serves it by the slice, or make it myself

I'd also like to throw in a vote for Dutch Apple pie...but not the traditional one with the raisins...I'm talking the Marie Calendar frozen one LOL

I like pumpkin pie but not a pie that has a lot of spice in it. I pile whipped cream on top. I just bought one from Costco, never had any of their pies before. It's delicious, and huge! Only $5.99.
Yeah, we stopped making pumpkin pies at home once Costco rolled out their $5.99 pies. We could barely make them homemade for less than that. And they are just as good as what we could make.

My wife always makes a pumpkin pie (primarily for me) and a Dutch Apple pie.
Lots of whipped cream on the pumpkin pie.

I like it, but probably wouldn't make it if DH didn't want it so badly.

I do roast the pumpkin and use fresh, which I think makes a difference. This year, I'm trying out a 1796 recipe that Max Miller (Tasting History on YouTube) posted. It's interesting because it doesn't have sugar (sweetened with molasses) or cinnamon (nutmeg and ginger are the only spices). DH agreed to try it.
