Regardless if you’re making the entire Thanksgiving meal, or just making a dish or two, are you finished with your grocery shopping for Thanksgiving?

For Me…….No, but I will be in about 3 hours.
I‘m normally done by now, but with us going to WDW last week/weekend I’m totally behind the 8ball with my Thanksgiving preparations. DH made the mistake of shopping the weekend before Thanksgiving 17 years ago (the first year we hosted) and I swore I would never do that again and I haven’t - so so so crowded and people are rude rude rude!

I make everything and have everything except for the rolls and pumpkin pie. Mom used to make the pies but now we just buy a freshly baked one the day before. 🦃

Nope - Evety year I do it ALL - shopping / cooking / cleaning etc
Well NOT this year I’m I strike I’ve had enough
I’ve Announced next week is Thanksgiving since my adults can’t read a calendar but to no avail
I’m done fighting for help on holidays so come Thursday we will have cereal or go hungry
Christmas is not looking any better but I’m done I’m too old to have all this and no help I’m not a maid / chef / home decorator for others to sit around and do nothing
Rant over
I do wish everyone an enjoyable Thanksgiving I’ll be teaching lessons in helping again 👍

We're going to DS's.
I am bringing mashed potatoes and appetizers.
Going shopping today.
Thursdays are my usual grocery shopping day anyway

I’ll buy the mushrooms and dinner rolls on Monday or Tuesday. I’m making a pumpkin pie Wednesday evening but I already have all the ingredients. I also have all the stuffing ingredients and will prepare it Thursday morning.

Dinner is at DD’s house. She’ll pick up the free turkey breast this weekend along with anything else that is needed.

Other: I'm neither guest nor host. I'm the partner of a host who cooks so much that even though I'd love to contribute, the kitchen is monopolized for the full day and much of the day prior.

This year I'll be trying to figure out what I can make ahead of time that isn't a baked dessert, because when there's so much food for dinner, no one's appetite makes it that far.

Maybe an appetizer dip.

But also, we haven't bought everything for dinner. We're not even sure how many people we're going to have this year. It could be a minimum of two (just us) or a maximum of seven or maybe nine (us, her parents, and her three adult children, but probably not their significant others, though also maybe). It's going to be a little bit chaotic.

I'm a guest. I make several things for thanksgiving but I haven't done my shopping yet. I think this year I'm making green bean casserole (I can't even stand to look at the stuff), scalloped apples (I made those last year when we did thanksgiving on our own and the family said 'we need to take these to grandma's next year') and chocolate pie (because it's my daughter's favorite).

We'll see how the last two go over. My MIL has very specific ideas about Thanksgiving dinner (a few years ago, my niece asked if I'd bring my deviled eggs and MIL shot down that idea because deviled eggs "do not belong at Thanksgiving dinner." So this time I am going with the 'ask forgiveness rather than permission' route. I cannot stand green bean casserole, but I make it anyway because MIL has determined that it's appropriate for thanksgiving dinner.

I'm a guest. I bring a side dish to be heated up when we're getting everything ready. This year it's Brussels sprouts with a balsamic glaze.

My sister and I are going out on Sunday to finish up the grocery shopping. She has the turkey and just about everything else, but we need stuff for the snacks; dips, cheese and pepperoni to cut up, etc. There's only 5 of us but she cooks (and we eat) enough to feed a regiment.

I'm a guest who brings one thing. I always bring Sausage Balls for an appetizer. I bought the sausage and cheese at the grocery last week, but keep forgetting to check if I have enough Bisquick or not. I need to check and will pick up a box if needed this weekend.

I'm host. But I only expect one guest this year. My husband has an employee that can't go home for the holidays. So dinner for 5. Some years it's a lot more people, but this year my parents and brother's family are going to Gatlinburg together. I couldn't really pull that off this year.

I made the shopping list last night, maybe I'll start shopping tomorrow night.

I made allergy free chocolate Neopolitan truffles (strawberry preserves, vanilla extract, and the base allergy safe chocolate chips for the Neopolitan flavor, and then coconut milk solids as the "cream" - if I made them again, I'd get freeze-dried strawberries to blitz and roll them in vs the powdered sugar I used to have them be "snowballs", although that was great, but the hints of strawberry and vanilla weren't quite neopolitan enough for me:)) for my Church bake sale this week - if you want to go dessert, I'd think a small portable one that goes with coffee might be really nice. One truffle is usually just enough sweet for anyone who is too full for anything else. And they can be made ahead...

I'm a guest and not quite done yet. I need to get sausage for the Bisquick balls and some stuff for the sweet potato hash. Maybe I'll get some cheese and make a queso fundido for an app, too. We have a lot of chorizo. We do have the case of champagne and everything needed to make some Rice Krispy treats.

I make everything, and I'm never finished grocery shopping til the day before.

I'll have almost everything this weekend, but I wait to pick up the fresh fruit for the lunch tray and some of the fresh veg for dinner...

I'm done with my shopping and I'll be making the side dishes and providing dessert. Funny thing is, I'm not even going to be eating. I have to work so my kids are are getting together for dinner so I'm making all the sides dishes and ds2 and his girlfriend are going to attempt the turkey.

I'm the host. My Mom is mad that I told her just to show up for dinner and not to bring anything. She kept insisting, so she is picking up the apple cream pie that I ordered per DH's request and she is bringing Hawaiian rolls.

However, I have everything under control. The things that I would have had her bring, I'm getting from our country club. We have a minimum spend each month, so I'm using it on Thanksgiving sides. DH wants to try their stuffing, but I'm also making mine, we're getting maple glazed roasted Brussel sprouts with bacon, honey glazed roasted carrots and Grand Marnier cranberry chutney, though I'll also make my own cranberry sauce, too. I'll also make the turkey, mashed potatoes, mashed rutabagas, or as my DS calls them... the best mashed potatoes, ever, and I'll make lasagna.

DH keeps updating what he wants. I was going to make a Bourbon Pecan Pie, but now he wants my homemade tiramisu. I ordered the lady fingers on Amazon last night... enough for Thanksgiving and Christmas since I know he'll want it then, too.

Canadian so Thanksgiving is passed so other.

If it was my Thanksgiving I would be host and have my stuff already but fresh buns .

I don't even know where to start. We are hosting this year.... I know we've had Thanksgiving, just me, DH, and 2 younger kids in the house here, but not sure when, and never actually hosted w others coming. We've not done any shopping. This year, we'll have us, plus my older son, and his British girlfriend, who has never had an American Thanksgiving, so want to make sure it's enjoyable. I rarely cook, so I don't know even know where to start. DH does the majority of that. Kids are good w meat/rolls. DH is on Atkins, so no carbs. We will need to make a plate for my FIL. MIL is in the hospital over Thanksgiving. She's local, but can only have 1 visitor for the 2 weeks she is there, so only her husband.
I guess I better get serious asap about food shopping/prep. I'd be more than happy to just order a prepared meal from somewhere.....

DW & I host, but it's just DD and the two DGDs--not a big crowd. While I enjoy cooking and am happy to contribute, DW will be doing the cooking, I don't think DD is bringing anything this time.

We have most of what we'll need for the meal, I'll go pick up the fresh ingredients on Monday or Tuesday.
