We’re talking about my favorite breakfast food item today. I can literally eat these until I burst.
Pancakes come many different ways, and us pancake lovers are normally pretty stuck on what we like. So how about you…..

What’s your opinion on pancakes?
If you like them…..how do you like them?
(multiple choice)

For Me……As I mentioned above, I love love love pancakes. I can embarrass myself with how many pancakes I can eat at an all you can eat pancake event :rotfl:I like my pancakes two ways - plain and blueberries in the batter (must be in the batter - I will ask the server how the pancakes come). I do not like my pancakes to be like a dessert with chocolate chips, whip cream and heavy syrups like a chocolate syrup - I just like butter and maple syrup.

I like pancakes. Only eat them once in a while because pancakes, 1/2 stick butter and cup of syrup =2 million calories. But add a few blueberries, butter and whipped cream, well that's healthy cause there's fruit and dairy.

I do make them for grandkids with mini chips in them.

But I did love the sweet potatoes??? pancakes they used to have at disney with the pecan butter. This is about 10 years ago.

I love pancakes, but very rarely eat them, too many carbs and calories.
I like them with butter and syrup the most, but also like blueberry (blueberries in the batter) and also like with chocolate chips in them.
I never order them out. When we have them for dinner at home, I usually just make them for DH and he is preferring the lower carb oatmeal ones. I usually use my lower carb bread and make French toast for me. I use no sugar added syrup

I'm with you dear Slo! I daily enjoy three very small (less than silver dollar size) pancakes with a little syrup, no butter🥞Warm and comforting bteakfast indeed.

I'm OK with pancakes, like them with butter and a touch of real maple syrup, NO CANDY or whipped cream. I prefer to get them at IHOP where I can get an international iteration (crepes, blintzes, those nice thin lemon ones, etc) than the usual flat, flabby pancake served in the USA.

However... I just "made" pancakes for the resident 8 year old. We buy frozen pancakes at Sam's, the brand with high protein (it's like 15g per serving... Premium might be the brand?). He eats like a truck driver and is growing like a weed, so we try to keep his protein intake as high as possible. This morning he had 3 pancakes (4") with butter and a drizzle of syrup, two sausages, a banana, and a mini lime powdered donut (treat of the week... doesn't happen too often around here). He eats as much as his father!

I’ll have what @Kitty 34 is having 🙂
Oh and I’ll also have them made with bananas or corn.
And I don’t know what happened to IHOP but once every 10 years when I go there I want Swedish pancakes or buttermilk or buckwheat and NOT the ones with candy. So now IHOP is off my list.

Last thing. There were two great restaurants to get crepes in NYC and I can’t recall the names but one had the waitresses wear a Breton headdress which must have been uncomfortable. Both gone, sigh.

Love them no whip maple syrup prefer honey most of the time no butter either
Choc chip yes
Strawberry’s on top oh heck yes
Blueberry - never
Gingerbread pancakes ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I rarely eat pancakes because of the carbs.

I love blueberry pancakes. And the blueberries must be in the batter, not as a compote. :)
Same. I don’t like them near well enough to waste the carbs, especially since I like so many other breakfast carbs better (toast, hash browns, stewed fruit, muffin or danish, etc.).

I love them. Mom used to make banana pancakes with sliced bananas in the batter. Mmmm.

I can take or leave any flavorings, though, and no pie filling on top at all, thanks. I'm not opposed to trying all of the different syrup flavors at IHOP, though.

I like them but rarely have them anymore. We used to make them for Saturday breakfast when the kids were at home. Now I only have them if eating out and it is a side dish.

I do love pancakes, mostly plain, with butter and/or a little syrup. Blueberries, in the batter, are okay also. Nothing else. I'd have to add that I also love French toast and waffles. I do try to stay away from all three foods though, so many csrbs/calories.

I like pancakes, but I prefer waffles.

I will eat them with maple syrup, and I like them best with blueberries (in the batter AND compote, please!) I would probably pass on the other flavors mentioned!

I really like pancakes. It's not necessarily an obsession love sort of thing, but I do have some preferences.

If I'm making pancakes at home, I must have the first one of the batch. That first one is always a little different, often has some crisp edges, and extra buttery. For home pancakes, I like them with butter and nothing else.

If we're going out and I order pancakes, I am game for just about anything, although I'm much more likely to get something involved vs. basic. I prefer fruit cooked into my pancake vs. topped. I do like all of the fun pancakes that IHOP has on their menu, but they tampered with the chocolate chocolate chip pancakes a while ago and I'm still bitter. I also miss all of their syrup varieties. Smuckers was the supplier and my favorite (BOYSENBERRY!!!) was one of the first to be discontinued. I could get by with blueberry and to a lesser degree strawberry, but then they nixed them all. We popped in for a late dinner this past weekend and I had Tres Leches pancakes. Not bad, but a lot of obvious artificial flavoring.

They are ok. I can't tell you the last time I made pancakes, I think dd was maybe 7 years old.

We are more of an egg home. And if having a carb heavy breakfast, french toast.
Going out for breakfast, I am getting an omelette or breakfast burrito.

I had them often growing up. My mom and dad both liked pancakes as part of our breakfast meal. I don't get to enjoy them now because the carbs would be a problem with my diabetes. I've tried more "diabetes safe" versions and they just didn't appeal to me at all. I'll just let them live in my memories now. :)

I like them but I have diabetes. Can't have all that sugar and flour.

Most of the time I don't like sweet stuff for breakfast.

I love them, but really only the ones I make at home from scratch. I find restaurant pancakes to be kind of soggy ... mine at home get a bit of a crispier edge. I also only really like the real maple syrup (and not the maple flavored corn syrup type stuff that many restaurants use). So, I don't often order them out. When I make them at home, it's usually actually for dinner when we do a breakfast for dinner night.
