Today is my baby’s birthday - she is now DD22 (happy birthday @piglet1805). She’s not home with me today, because she’s starting grad school soon. We had a party for her on Friday, and we got her her favorite birthday cake, which is an ice cream cake. She likes the type of ice cream cake that has actual cake in it too. Some ice cream cakes are just ice cream (DQ cakes are like this). So naturally, since it’s her birthday, I have to do a poll about ice cream cakes. So let’s talk ice cream cakes. Give us your icy sweet answer today…..

For Me…..I like it a lot and I like it best with actual cake in it. I would never want it for my birthday, but I will always enjoy eating it for my DD’s birthdays

I always get my kids and husband icecream cakes for their birthdays.
I get them from Baskin Robbins or DQ.
They usually request mint chocolate chip or cookies and cream.
We don’t like cake in the middle. Just icecream and lots of fudge.

It's okay to me. DS has usually had an ice cream cake every birthday, but skipped this year and DGD made his instead.
DGD switches back and forth,,,,,this year was ice cream.
I like when they have ice cream cake because it is easier for me to pass on it or just have a tiny bit.
Sometimes DD will have one. It has been awhile for her though. And only from Frost and gluten free.

I love ice cream cakes with cake inside. I used to order them all the time for kids' birthdays. And I used to buy ice cream cake rolls for normal desserts. But they have been really hard to find in a regular grocery store.

That's a great looking cake, pretty fancy!

We've had some ice cream cakes over the years. I think with and without actual cake inside. I like them well enough.

I've not had in ages, but I remember the ice cream cake rolls that were (msybe still are) in the freezer section of regular grocery stores. It was like a log, a vanilla ice cream, chocolate cake swirl. A slice was a nice, different treat.

Loved them. Grew up behind DQ so it was an easy ask. Can't have the favorite part, crumble layer, any more so stopped getting them. The kinds with layers of cake I don't consider being ice cream cake but I didn't know those existed until I was an adult.

I haven’t had ice cream cake in years, but I always liked the ones with the actual cake in them best. I will eat whatever one is being offered though

Used to love Carvel's ice cream cakes with the cookie crumbs in the middle, but when I was maybe 10, I got sick after eating one. Could've been completely unrelated, but my kid brain associated it with the cake, so I haven't had one of theirs since.

I've made a couple over the years for DD's birthday. This one actually has whipped cream icing (colored) and a fondant logo in the middle. It's messy, but made with love.

I didn't know they even made ice cream cakes that were only ice cream.

I haven't had an ice cream cake in probably over 20 years. The last time I remember having an ice cream cake was for my younger daughters birthday when she turned 10? She's now 32.

I've never had a proper ice cream cake as such, not really sure it's even a big thing in the UK, aside from maybe an arctic roll. Closest I've ever gotten is cake and ice cream. That said I would love to try ice cream cake as it sounds right up my street, always loved cake with ice cream

I should specify that when I think ice cream cake, I think Carvel...and not the supermarket freezer section cakes. Their "crunchies" gave the cakes such great texture but they seem to be soggy/mushy in the mass produced ones. What I would do for a bite of Cookie Puss or Fudgie the Whale!
