In 2023 I was introduced to coconut rice at a restaurant called Coconuts on the Beach in Cocoa Beach Florida. We’ve gone to this restaurant about 4 more times since then (we love this place) and I get coconut rice every time. Today, I’m going to attempt to make it at home (wish me luck), which is what inspired this poll. For those that don’t know what it, because I never heard of it until 2023, here ya go……



So, I’m curious today, if any of you have had this and your thoughts on it. Give us your coconutty answer today……

For Me…….As I mentioned above, I have had it and I like it a lot. I’ve now had it at a few different restaurants in the Space Coast area of Florida and it tastes a little different in each place. Coconuts on the Beach makes theirs a little sweeter, which I like. I hope I have success in making this today

My mom has made this since I was a child. I love it but only make it with certain things (no idea why). I have never added sugar or cardamom.

I just looked up a recipe for coconut rice. I’m not sure what spurred it, but I think it came from reading the What’s For Dinner Tonight?thread. I’m very interested in trying it. I LOVE everything coconut except coconut shrimp. For some reason, I just don’t like that particular combination. Love coconut, love shrimp, but together…

I love Coconuts on the Beach, it's my favorite restaurant in the area!!

I make it coconut rice regularly to go with curry.

I've tried it and it's alright, but its not something I'd rave about. Rice isn't usually my go to unless its with a curry and when it is, I'd happily go plain over flavoured/coconut etc.

I love Vigo’s Coconut Ginger rice. We can get it in Florida in the grocery store but I’ve also had it shipped when in Maryland. I’ve made poke bowls with it and it is yummy

I’ve never heard of it, probably would try it and I imagine I would like it but I’m diabetic so stay away from rice.

Been eating coconut rice all my life.
One of the few Caribbean dishes my Mom mastered without burning to a crisp and she could burn water just not with rice in it
