Never really thought about it but now that you bring it up I guess I always do the right foot first. Not sure why, maybe because I'm right handed so starting on the right side 'feels' like the correct one to start with? :confused3

No specific order really. I sometimes wear an elastic sleeve on my permanently swollen left ankle after my bad sprain 2 years ago, I might put the sock on over that first, but not an always thing.

Left foot or Right foot - which foot gets a sock on it first?
Do you change this or is it the same every day?
Generally, left foot first. But that's only since I had hip surgery a couple of years ago on my right hip. As I'm getting "better" (flexiblity-wise) it can vary, depending on how flexible I am that day.

I hope your surgery goes well, and fast recovery.

I don’t have a set pattern for putting on socks and shoes. Whichever foot I lift is first.

Slo, I hope you get the results you need from your surgery. My Dad has a lot of feet and knee issues...one foot needs rebuilding-not in his plans because with age and recovery time...he decided not to do it. His crow boot would not work with our knee doctor's suggestion for an off=loading brace.
I chose left foot plus changes. I use a knee sleeve currently on left so it is easier and do right sock right hinge knee brace.
I am discovering a lot of my relatives having right knee issues.

Good luck with the foot Sandy, let's hope it provides a permanent fix for the problem.

No preferred order for socks. I only wear them when absolutely necessary

I've never paid attention but it's most likely what ever leg is easier to lift that day.

I didn’t think about this until I read your post - right foot first.
I hope your surgery went well and you have a quick recovery.

First off , hope the surgery tomorrow helps the issue with your foot. I usually put on my left sock first, but I'm a lefty. Also put my left shoe on first too.

Thank you to everyone that is continuing to wish me well ❤️ :goodvibes

The surgery itself went well, but I won’t know if it worked for a while. This surgery has a 70% success rate, so I am praying that I’m in that 70%. The foot surgery that I had on my left foot 15 years ago (different type of surgery) also had no guarantee that it would work, but I ended up doing two half marathons on it three years after the surgery, and never had an issue. Only time will tell., and if it doesn’t work, then I need to do another surgery on it, which is a different surgery than what I had yesterday.

I’m in some pain, but nothing horrible and alarming. I was prescribed heavy painkillers., but I’m not a fan of taking something like that so I will not be taking them. I actually welcome the pain because then I won’t overdo it with walking too much on it. The incision they made is on the bottom of my heel so naturally it does hurt to walk on it. I am in a walking boot so that helps a little bit in regards to keeping it protected. I’ll be taking some Tylenol and that’s it. It actually didn’t hurt at all while I was in bed last night. It does hurt now today because I walked on it, but that’s to be expected and Ok. I’m going to take it easy all weekend and the only place I’m going is to church tonight.

Have a good weekend friends :wave2:and thanks again for your prayers and well wishes
Hugs ❤️:grouphug:

Thanks for the update, Sandy. Take it easy, as you said. Stay seated at church tonight, none of the up/down/kneel. Looking for an update next week.'s
