I saw the below picture on Instagram today and it made me laugh because it’s so true for many of us.
So I ask…..

With it being almost 2024…..
What do you call Hollywood Studios?
Do you still call it MGM Studios?
Do you call it Hollywood Studios?
Have you been to the park with one or both names?
(multiple choice)

For Me……The majority of time I say MGM Studios or just MGM. If I’m talking to people that are new to WDW, then I’ll call it Hollywood Studios. So, what I call it is based on my audience. My DD20 doesn’t remember HS being MGM, since it happened in 2008 (she was 5yrs old) but she’s so used to hearing me say it that she says it too - LOL!

My sister still calls Disney Springs the Village, lol.
This made me laugh because my DH and I do too.
I will call it by the current name to others, because many never knew it as Disney Village, but when my DH and I are talking to each other we 100% always say “The Village”.

It's taken a long time to transition to HS but we tend to call it by HS more often than not now. Sometimes MGM slips out!

I only call it Hollywood studios. My first visit was 2009 so my new wife and I had been calling it MGM before the name change but adapted easily to the new name.

We’ve been to it when it was MGM and since it became HS. I miss a lot of the older stuff. Backlot tours and the Great Movie Ride were always my favorites. Plus when DD first got a job there after the college program ended she worked on GMR. We also used to love when you got to see the artists sketching. My son was really good at drawing and this guy called Walt had him be the Artist of the day and gave him a really cool portfolio and a name tag. I just came across them while trying to find the Christmas present I hid in such a safe place that I cannot find it!

It’s MGM I don’t think I’ll ever get out of that it’s downtown DISNEY I know I’ll never get out of that and if I’m talking to somebody new about DISNEY they look at me like I’m crazy they’re like what are you talking about DISNEY Springs just doesn’t relate to me I mean they’ve changed the name of that so many times it’s ridiculous
And I liked MGM so much better than Hollywood studios I’m so mad that they got rid of the great movie ride and a few other things at MGM Mostly the great movie ride

My sister still calls Disney Springs the Village, lol.

When was this? We call it downtown disney.
Us too!

As to the original question - I've been to HS under both names and I still kind of think of it as MGM, but Hollywood Studios as a name is growing on me. DH, however, has this shirt: :rotfl:
