HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all our American DIS Friends! 🧡🦃🍁🍂
I hope you all enjoy your day today!

As I sit here, I have the Chicago news on, and they keep talking about the big Thanksgiving parade that is downtown every year. So it got me thinking….. I’ve never been to a Thanksgiving Day parade, and I wonder how many of you have been to a Thanksgiving day parade. I am going to assume that our Canadian friends probably have Thanksgiving day parades on their Thanksgiving (this year it was Oct 14th). So tell us today…..

Have you ever gone to a Thanksgiving day parade?
If yes…… when?
Have you ever been in Thanksgiving day parade?
(multiple-choice)

* If you live in a different country that doesn’t have a Thanksgiving, you can still participate in this poll.

For Me……As I mentioned above I have not been to a Thanksgiving Day parade. When I was a kid, my mom always hosted things so there was no time for my parents to take us. As an adult, I/we always hosted Thanksgiving, and we never had time to take our kids. Even if we had/have the time, I don’t know if I would wanna go - to cold :cold:

I have never been.....just stay local for Thanksgiving.
I don't even watch them anymore

Never been to one but DD did go to our city one - her school band was in it and her boyfriend at the time was in the band so she went - it’s so cold on Thanksgiving I don’t know how those kids stand it !!!

Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

No Thanksgiving parade for me. I'm afraid I'm not much of a parade guy, even at WDW (parades are a good time for rides because the parade consumes so many people.) Standing around waiting for something is among my least favorite activities, and if it's too hot or too cold??? No way!:)

We were just talking about the Macy’s parade last night. I have always wanted to go, but I’ve heard from so many that it’s awful. The parade is great, but how early you have to go to get a spot and how food and potty breaks are nearly impossible. I once had an opportunity to be in it. The dad of a girl from school was a higher ranking Macy’s executive and we were all invited to walk in costume ahead of one of the balloons. The call time for costume and makeup was crazy early. We had too much going on for it to happen.

I've never been either. My beloved late grandma so enjoyed parades especially the Rose Parade. She could watch it on/off all New Years Day. I am not that parade patient. I would love to one day get to see at Disneyland a Christmas Fantasy Parade again with my dad. That was so cute. Sometime today I will check out some of the Macy's Parade especially for Santa at the end. Happy Thansgiving to all and fun question dear Slo.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I've never been to a Thanksgiving parade. 😭. I'd love to go in an ideal world, but honestly I don't think I would enjoy the cold or rain for a not very good view of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

But, my family has been to Universal Orlando during the holidays. Universal's Holiday parade is lovely. The first time I saw it, I wept. Highly recommended and the weather was great.

Never been to one. I think they have one in Atlanta but you couldn't pay me enough to go there (it's only a hour drive from where I live). I am watching the Macy's parade right now. Well, sort of. It's on and I look up every now and again.

Sorry. Couldn't resists!! :teeth:

Happy Thanksgiving Slo. I'm thankful for your polls.

Never a Thanksgiving Parade. But until I retired 3 years ago, Thanksgiving was a regular work day for DW and I.
We did go to the Rose Parade on New Years Day in Pasadena in 1983. Frankly, it is a lot more impressive on TV.

Growing up in the Detroit area in the 80's, the Hudson's parade was the only Thanksgiving Day parade I knew. The family attended one year sometime when I was still in single digits. My junior year of high school, I was in it with the marching band. My senior year, instead of the parade, the band got to do preshow at the Lions game and accompany (three of) the Four Tops on the national anthem.

Went a couple times to Macys T-Day Parade and WOW you cant appreciate those balloons without seeing in person.

...it was WAYYYYY too wet this year....
