I usually put mine up a week or two before Christmas. I used to go all out and decorate every room but now I just put the tree up and hang the stockings. I do have a small table top tree upstairs in my woman cave that stays up year round. I was one my Mama put in her dining room and she always left it up so I'm keeping up the tradition.

Two weeks before Christmas until the Epiphany, on January 6th. Always after Pearl Harbor Day on December 7th. We take our holidays one at a time.
My next door neighbors put up their Christmas tree in their front window on the day after Halloween. Kind of bizarre because as of this morning, they STILL have a 12 foot tall skeleton, two inflatable Halloween monsters, and a coffin on their front lawn!

Tree goes up about 2 weeks before. The Advent stuff comes out after Thanksgiving, and front door decoration. We'll be traveling for a week until Dec 15 this year and I don't think the tree will go up before we leave. It stays up a few weeks after Christmas.

We usually decorate the day after thanksgiving… but DH might put the lights in the bushes outside this weekend because the weather is supposed to be decent. We won’t turn them on till after thanksgiving though.

Several of our neighbors have already decorated though.

Tree goes up thanksgiving weekend.
Lights go up in November on a day that has nice weather before thanksgiving - but sometimes thanksgiving weekend.
I don't turn them on till after thanksgiving though.

We put up our tree Thanksgiving weekend. It is artificial as real bother DH's sinuses. We host a family Christmas party 2 weeks after so we decorate earlier than we normally would.

Back when we used to get a real tree, we usually did it two weekends before Christmas. Now that we have an artificial, we tend to do it a little earlier - whenever all our schedules match to work on it together. I really would like to do two trees, but we don't have a good spot for a second one without moving a lot of stuff around and feeling majorly cluttered.

Inside decorations I usually do myself - a little at a time spread over the week following Thanksgiving. Last year I finally separated them into odd year and even year bins when I put them away, because there were just too many. It should be easier this year.

Outdoor lights I just put up on a good weather day and turn on right after Thanksgiving. They're a pretty simple set-up on the porch.

Had 2 trees for several years when we were in our old house - a 7' live tree in the living room with the traditional glass ornaments and travel souvenir ones, and a smaller 5' tree in the family room, decorated with homemade and kids' ornaments. Now that we are in a townhouse, I only have room for one tree, and we got an artificial one. I have too many ornaments and it is hard to decide what to use!

I have a small 2' pre-lit tree I used to put in the front entryway, I may put that into use somewhere with a few ornaments this year.

My personal tree and stuff will be in storage in NC this year since there is no time to get my stuff with my parents appointments and my job search.
We will put out most of their decorations ... maybe mid December since we have some projects to do first.

I used to be a strict “after Thanksgiving” person but my son always spent Thanksgiving with his dad so when he was growing up if he asked to put it up before Thanksgiving, we did. He’s 21 now and came over last Saturday to help me decorate.

Mine usually goes up after Thanksgiving, but it’s usually 3’ or smaller and sits on a table. :)

We do put up a tree, Thanksgiving was six weeks ago, so it goes up way after. My daughter is coming over Dec 2 to decorate the tree, but it might get put up a few days before that so it has time to fluff out, and so that I can have the lights for a few days more.

Is that Canada?
I’m intrigued now, I m going to go look up when and where it’s all about. :)

Yep, I’m in Canada. We had thanksgiving traditions before the US so instead of people saying Canadian Thanksgiving, we should be saying American Thanksgiving.
Agree,

So what is your Plymouth Rock? I assume northeast somewhere as well?
