People are putting up their Christmas trees earlier and earlier every year. At one time, people put up their trees a few weeks before Christmas, and now it’s almost a few months. Where do you fall in the Christmas tree putting up timeline - let us know……

Do you put up a Christmas tree?
If yes….when before Christmas does it get put up?
(multiple choice)

For Me……My Christmas trees are going up earlier and earlier every year. Starting about 15 years ago I started putting up my living room Christmas tree up before Thanksgiving. A few years after that, I decided to put both my living room and family room Christmas tree up before Thanksgiving. I decorate a lot for Christmas, and having the trees done before Thanksgiving makes things less stressful for the weekend after Thanksgiving when I decorate the rest of the house. This year is the earliest I’ve ever put up Christmas tree. - the family room Christmas tree was put up last weekend. This weekend, I will start working on the living room Christmas tree. Each Christmas tree takes me over five hours to put up because I have no lights in them. They were pre-lit originally, but sections of lights started going out, so instead of buying new trees, I decided to cut out all the lights and start putting the lights in every year - it’s a big job. I love the way my trees look when they are done, so putting them up early is very joyful for me, and I get to enjoy them for more than just three or four weeks.

Until three years ago, we had a fresh cut tree, so it used to be maybe 10 days before. That year , we went to disney right after Thanksgiving for a week , came home and started looking. Little trees, like 5 tall were pushing $60-70. And not even good looking.

We switched to fake. But it was coming to that anyway. I had said for a couple of years, I don't know how much longer this climbing under tree is going to happen. But we still would wait until after Thanksgiving, but just not 10 days before.

We normally decorate thanksgiving weekend but we are about to start construction on the house so depending on timing it may be scaled back this year. Things are kind of everywhere as we try to empty out the space they will be working on.

Dad and I don't have the space for a full sized Christmas tree. We usually get a small potted tree by Thanksgiving or soon after. God willing if our tree is still healthy in January, we give it to a friend to permanately plant🎄

Thanksgiving used to be one of our more common times to go to Disney/travel, so we used to want to make sure tree was up before then. also with my working, often that week, needed extra time, and that usually fell on Veteran's Day. This year, we missed our goal, but mostly because we needed a new tree. DH got that Tues, and put the tree up last night. Got 1 ornament on it, but plan to work on that tonight after work!

Normally, I put my tree and decorations out the weekend after Thanksgiving, however with Thanksgiving being very late this year and my only weekend off if this weekend, my tree and decorations are going up this weekend.

Ours always goes up the day after Thanksgiving and most of the time comes down on New years eve, though I used to leave it up until January 6th.

Every year my daughter and I pick out a few new special ornaments and my husband jokes we're going to need another tree soon.

With the cats, we need to set up the tree and let them get used to it before we decorate. They were less than a year old on their first Christmas with us and they loved climbing in it. That year we just put the tree away. The second Christmas (last year) they were bigger and I think they sensed the tree might not support their weight so they avoided it.. This will be Christmas #3 for them and hopefully they have the Christmas tree climbing out of their systems. :cat: :cat: So the tree may get set up prior to Thanksgiving, but the ornaments will be added the weekend after.

Usually our 9 foot tree goes up early Dec. I get all the other decorations up starting December 1. But this year we leave for vacation December 1 and we are hosting Christmas and Christmas Eve, so everything will be up before we leave.
I will start Monday......so sad about it because I didn't bother putting up my Thanksgiving decorations. (We don't host that)

I have a rule -- no Christmas before Thanksgiving. Usually that means music (a local radio station starts 24-hr Christmas music on 11/15) but goes for decorations as well. I have fall/Thanksgiving decorations up and won't switch to Christmas until after Thanksgiving is done. Usually the creche is the first decoration out, then most of the rest comes out in early Dec. The live tree doesn't go up until within a week of Christmas but we keep it up until Epiphany so well into January. At which point decorations shift to snowmen.

We usually put up our tree 2 to 3 werks before Christmas. This year it’s likely to be the weekend of December 7-8. The tree almost always stays up until January 2.

I said 5 weeks before Christmas , used to be a month before but it takes me almost a week to get everything out and then boxes put away .

I work at the food bank 2 straight weeks the first of Dec. to do hampers etc. so I can’t wait until after. Plus get my Christmas cookies. Busy time of the year.

Every year I say I will take out less but my family laughs because they knew I won’t. I’m one to change out shower curtains, change duvets all to Christmas no room untouched.

I don't put any up at home but we will put up several a day or two after Thanksgiving at the shelter. We try to make it a fun and festive environment for all visitors and animals alike. :)

Our tree went up Monday. 🎄

Yesterday all of our holiday decor was up, including outside.

Yes, I agree, it’s early.

Before covid, it usually went up weekend before Thanksgiving. But during covid my daughter wanted it up early to boost her mood and get into the holiday spirit. That set a new precedent, and if it were up to her it would be up November 1st. 😂

I have this and next Christmas before she is away for college. I have no problem it’s up this early. And the weather yesterday afternoon was lovely, happy to take advantage before real November temperatures hit.

I put up a fake tree in the dining room and a real one in the living room…always after Thanksgiving…except maybe this year…Thanksgiving is so late and I’ll be at Disney Hilton Head and then heading down to WDW… so it’s either before Thanksgiving or wait til Dec10…
I leave my trees and other decor up til after Jan 7 - the traditional 12 days of Christmas…
Growing up, we always put our tree up on Christmas Eve.
