More and more people decorate the outside of their home for Halloween. Some homes have a little and some have a very incredible display. If the stores by you are anything like by us, if you haven’t bought your Halloween decorations yet, then you may be to late - most of the stuff is gone and Christmas is out (so crazy).
So give us your spooky answer today……

Do you decorate the OUTSIDE of your home for Halloween?
If yes…..have you decorated yet?
If yes…..how much do you decorate?
(multiple choice)

*Please post pictures - we’d love to see them

For Me……We decorate the outside of the house very little. We live at the end of a dead end street, so nobody sees our yard and we get no trick or treaters. My DH puts out one big light up pumpkin on the front porch and a big blow up Stay Puft Marshmallow Man at the end of the driveway facing the street - it’s so funny to see - he’s pretty big and my DH has him in the back of his truck he rarely drives, so he’s lifted up higher - it’s great! 🤣

No decorations here. I think Halloween is kind of a nothing-burger, so I don't get all the celebration. SOMEWHERE in the basement, we have a string of purple/orange/green lights that DD purchased once long ago, but if I could find them, I'm not sure they'd even work anymore.

PS- Dollar Tree has a whole aisle of Christmas stuff set up already. The store clerk said he was no happier setting it up than I was in seeing it. Why do we have to rush everything so much? Cha-ching $$$. Being set up so early takes the "specialness" out of the holiday season for me.

I get a lot of kids and I’ve had my deco out for a few weeks now - I have a graveyard and several skeletons on my porch tons of pumpkins 🎃 and mums and headstones 🪦 the subdivision has a contest every year for best yard display so people get very creative around here decking their yards for Halloween 🎃
I purchased several items for inside my house back in May as Christmas 🎄 is out now

We decorate outside for Halloween. I would say "moderately"... will do some orange lights, orange light bulbs, a few signs, reusable jack lantern, and a couple of the Halloween "star showers". We also have a couple inflatables, but I really don't want to mess with them. The lights are burned out and that just annoys me.

We have not yet put up our decorations outside. We will probably do that over the weekend (hopefully Saturday morning). I would like to have them up, but just been too busy and/or tired to do it.

Marie does the holiday decorating. For now, a combination of fall and Halloween stuff outside. It's not up yet. When Halloween is over she'll leave some of the stuff up as fall decorations, until Christmas decoration time. I'd say it's moderate, tasteful.

We do not generally decorate outside for halloween, except for jack-o-lanterns. However, last year I got a set of Halloween twinkle lights on the clearance rack for 60 cents. When I bought them, I thought they were indoor, battery-operated twinkle lights... but they are more like the small christmas tree bulbs and are plug-in. I don't have a good place to use them indoors, so I might do something with them outdoors this year. However, it will likely just be a day or two before Halloween. To me, Halloween is a day, not a season.

I do put up a couple of outdoor things for Halloween, but not until the day of or a few days before, depending on weather. I usually carve a jack-o-lantern as well.

We have never put out any outdoor Halloween decorations. It is really just a 1-day holiday to me. There are only a handful of houses in our development who have ever decorated for Halloween. I don't notice that number growing and it has always been the same few people who do that. I would estimate that based on who puts their lights on, less than 1/3 of the houses even hand out candy on Halloween. Some people don't have small children or don't care to celebrate Halloween.

I put up orange lights outside and that is just about all I do. We live in an area with lots of school kids walking past our block. I have some really nice indoor decorations.

I love all the outdoor decorations. It seems like there are more inflatable decorations every year. :)

Have a wooden ghost and a pumpkin. The Squirrels have already begun to eat the pumpkin. We only get one or two trick or treaters, most of the houses on our street are vacation homes or seasonal rentals.

Yeah we decorate about a week in advance - some small things outside - hang some things from trees - nothing crazy.

This year maybe two weeks in advance we will turn on the lights- I did install permanent outdoor lights that I can set any color and control so its much less work.
I also put Chucky and Sam in the window and some Killer clowns.

Thats about it.

I only have my fall decorations out right now but I do have 2 metal pumpkins included in that.

About 2 weeks or so I will do Halloween but nothing crazy, change the garden flag , real pumpkins, and I a string of pumpkin lights that go in the ground in the garden.

We have to get through our Thanksgiving in 2 weeks first.

We don’t celebrate Halloween but I do have my harvest stuff up. Now that we’re in an apartment condo there’s nothing out front except a wreath/door hanging. The rest is inside and on the terrace, alas, only to be seen and enjoyed by us.

We decorate moderately outside. A little wrought iron fence, some animal skeletons, and a couple of blow ups.....still working on it. We got home from vacation Monday night.
We are at the end of a dead end street and get a lot of trick-or-treaters.
Word has spread over the years that we do full size candy bars.
Also non chocolate treats and non candy treats (I need to get going on those).....still doing laundry, going through mail and going to medical appointments, so slow going.

We don't do any decorations, but I saw a cute idea on FB or pintrest . Take gallon water bottles , draw some ghost faces on them and put in glow sticks. Last few years we have sat just inside the open garage door (with the lights on) to hand out candy. Bit warmer and easier on knees. So I'm thinking make runway lights with the ghost bottles to the garage door.

We have handed out glow sticks in the past and the kids love them, but discovered the colors dim if it's too cold outside. So I plan to fill up the bottles with hot water to make sure they glow bright for a few hours.

I don't decorate at all for Halloween. We don't get any trick or treaters and it's not a holiday I really care about (even as a kid I was just in it for the candy).

Moved to FL this summer. I have a bunch of fall decorations, including Halloween. However, they're all in bins and I'm just not feeling the fall this year. Don't think I'm going to bother for this year.

We also ditched our Christmas tree when we moved (it was pretty old), so I need to find a new one at a decent price, but DH and I differ in opinion as to what size to get.

YES!!! Moderately
In Sept I start with 2 small garden Flags and a few scarecrows, maybe a mum. ( I have already tossed the mum, sigh) I also have a few metal sunflower sticks that I push into the ground or a planter.
Now that Oct is here, I have 5 light-up pumpkins, a small ghost blow-up, 3 small foam cemetery markers and a few lights on the bushes, I still have to purchase 1 or 2 real pumpkins.
