I have several co-branded cards, Costco, Amazon Visa, Marriott AMEX, LL Bean, GM MasterCard. My main bank's Visa. No store only cards. Did have a Sears card many, many years ago. Well used for many purchases in its day.

Not sure we have many stores that offer credit cards here anymore. Some may have teamed up with Visa or Mastercard.

I only can think of The Bay, and PC Mastercard. I have neither of these.

My mother had a Sears card for our school clothing, and other clothing as well. But I can remember , even now her saying, these are not worth it. She only wanted to keep it separate of the house acts.

The cards to me at what seems like any, and too many stores are incredible, and a perfect trap for the young. 😢

Wow, that's a lot of credit cards. I just got a back up one, so I am up to two.

Fell into that trap many years ago. I have, as another poster called them, 3 co branded cards. Sears, JC Penney & WalMart. They all started out as stores cards & somehow over the years turned into either MC/Visa cards so are no longer just store cards even tho store name is on them. I rarely use the Sears or JC Penney ones because of the high interest rate. The Walmart one is now actually Capital One & has a better rate.
The store cards I have are Best Buy which I got several years ago when I was more into electronics. Rarely use it anymore except maybe for gift purchases. The other is Kohls. Kohls was smart. Only gave me a $300 limit about 10yrs ago & has never offered an increase & I have never asked for one, lol. So I sometimes go hog wild there on Black Friday.

6. Costco used at Costco and for gas and restaurants, good rebate. Amazon, same thing. Marriott, same. LL Bean, free shipping and free returns, and rewards.. GM car, great rewards. My bank, everything else. Generally one physical card in wallet, all in Google Wallet. 5 cards never leave my desk.

We spend so little now for the most point, the rebates don't add up to much. Keeping track of six would make me crazier than I already am.

I have Kohls, Target, Boscovs, Wawa, and Home Depot. I used to have a few more, like Macys, Sears, and Lord &Taylor but I either cancelled them or the stores closed.

Way back when: John Wanamaker, Strawbridge & Clothier, Gimbels, Bambergers, and maybe a few more defunct stores.
