A surprise poll today :cool1:
With Halloween being on Tuesday many will be carving their pumpkins this weekend?
So I ask…..

Are you carving pumpkins this weekend?
Or, did you already carve your pumpkins?
How many pumpkins are getting carved?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..No pumpkin carving here :sad2: Truth be told…I actually severely dislike carving pumpkins. I would help my girls when they were young, but once they were old enough to do it themselves, I’d just enjoy watching them. DD20 did carve pumpkins at college with her softball team (team bonding night).

No carving here. They rot way to fast
The grand kids brought is 2 little white pumpkins. We painted them.
DD painted her bigger one she got at the pumpkin farm.
The grand kids have not done anything with theirs yet.

No carving here either. Offered the grandkids the opportunity...hard pass.

No pumpkin carving for us. It is just too messy and I don't have the patience. We just have "reusable" jack o lanterns. (the kind that you plug in)

We have a couple small pumpkins, but not going to carve them... leaving them "as is" so they can still serve as fall decor after Halloween is over.

I do most all of the holiday traditions with the boys, but not carving pumpkins. Dh does that. They will do it tomorrow. I will make pumpkins seeds for them, though.

DD painted a couple and DH brought home a couple given away at work. That's the extent of ours.

I didn't even put mums out this year.

DD will carve hers. We had planned to be away this weekend so it was going to be done on Monday. Now that we are home, she'll probably do it today or tomorrow.

I always buy a big pumpkin, but I do not carve them anymore.
My daughter carved a beautiful one quite a few years ago of TinkerBell. It still looked great on my dad's 80th B day so we brought it over to him for his B day party. He has since passed and that was the last carved pumpkin I can remember.

No carving here. My Godson painted one. I used to paint pumpkins back when I lived in the city-I used to use the stem as a 'nose' and paint a face around it. One time I painted a witch pumpkin, and I was so happy with it I put it out on the front stoop. The next day it was gone. I can only hope it was stolen by someone who really liked it.

I do not carve a pumpkin. I have a large porcelain jack o’lantern that I put a candle or other source of light inside to use instead. I really dislike removing the mushy guts of a real pumpkin.

No pumpkin carving or us today. I only did it a couple of times as a kid and my mother did a pumpkin birthday cake one year (out off 2 bundt cakes) and I think also a ghost cake with glowing eyes for my sister's cake for a combined birthday cake.

Hooray for a surprise Saturday poll and always, always goory for you dear Slo  Don't carve pumpkins anymore, dad used to for me as a kid. Pre pandemic at church it was fun to help kiddos decorate with stickers and markers pumpkins. I don't celebrate traditional Halloween. I did pre Covid participate in Trunk or Treat at church. Happy Saturday to all :)

My wife bought one pumpkin and she will carve it Monday. She picked the template for the design last weekend. If we carve the pumpkin too soon, it will be all moldy by Halloween.

Going to visit grand kids tomorrow for pumpkin fest. I’m over 60 and still need to create my own. A very happy memory I have with my family as the kids grew up. Pumpkin guts!

I normally do, but just haven't been inspired this year. I bought a plastic one that lights up and sings when it detects motion, though, so I will have that one out for the trick-or-treaters.

Only ones we have carved in recent years was two years ago with the grandkids.
