The usual is homemade. I have used pre-made packs for larger gatherings, usually from a wholesale club store.

I don't like hamburgers and we never have homemade ones. I can say with certainty I've never in 25 years of running the household ever bought pre-formed or frozen ones. DH and DS like fast-food burgers well enough and I'll eat one in a pinch if there's no other options, like when we're visiting somewhere and that's what's served. Otherwise, just no.

We usually make our own turkey burgers, but have occasionally bought pre-made beef or veggie ones. (I also eat burgers in restaurants.)

Wahlburgers are my favorite to make home with a sprinkle of the McCormick burger spice, but when I try to make them myself from ground beef they are a mashed up mess so I don't bother.

Pre-made but not frozen. Our local grocery store has packaged patties with steakhouse seasoning and they are soo good. DH smashes them up on the flat-top grill. 😋

DH really likes homemade patties made from organic beef. I sneak in premade patties every so often, but they're never well-received.

Only home made, but I like premade too. For those saying you get premade for the convenience, why don’t spend an hour making a bunch of homemade and stick them in the freezer? Then you get the best of both worlds.

Pre-made, pre-cooked Schwans Angus burgers. But those are usually quick meals. When we want a burger, we have a very good gourmet burger place close by so we buy them out and bring them home.
I have suggested home made bbqed burgers a few times, but the quality (flavor) of the beef the gourmet burger place uses is so much better than any cut of ground beef we can buy in the store, my wife doesn't think it is worth it.

I liked the 1/4 pound premade at Costco because it was easy and they were nice and thin. Contrary to many people, I love a really thin little burger. Now that they only have 1/3 pound and that is thick enough that I'd just as soon make my own. I'm pretty sure they'll taste better.

I do not make them myself, DH makes them and grills them. I like burgers any way that I can get them. I tried a veggie burger before at some festival... I loved it. I am not vegan or anything, I just genuinely thought it tasted better than the ones made with meat. I would love to have those veggie burgers again.

I make both For the pre made ones I typically get Bubba burgers but they are more expensive than if I make them myself. My own burgers don’t always taste the greatest - wish I had a better recipe. Actually made homemade burgers last night and they were pretty good.

Homemade only, I don't recall ever buying the pre-made patties.
I'm with you, Ron- don't think I've EVER bought pre-made patties. I buy bulk burger when it's on sale (last week got 80/20 for $2.79 a pound) and make a bunch, put them on wax-paper lined cookie sheets, and freeze them. Once frozen solid, they go in a ziplock bag until needed. I get about 3 burgers per pound of meat, which is a good-sized burger for most people.

I buy frozen turkey burgers, pre-made. I have not been able to successfully form burgers from bulk ground turkey; they just don't hold together. I buy turkey burgers from Trader Joe's.

Somewhat on topic. Some burger chain tried selling 1/3 pound burgers to compete with McDonalds Quarter Pounder, but they failed because supposedly most consumers believed 1/4 is larger than 1/3.

I’m about half and half with homemade and pre-made refrigerated burgers. For some reason I don’t buy frozen, but will freeze the refrigerated ones. Go figure.

I like Montreal seasoning in/on my burgers.

At home, my DH really likes the pre-made Bubba patties, but I like making burger patties from scratch as well. They both taste good to me. I think he likes the convenience of putting a frozen perfectly shaped patty directly on the grill, so we use those more often. But a homemade patty with diced onion is so good and Season All better burger recipe is about the best ever.

I do enjoy a burger out sometimes too. Not the fast food so much, though I really do like Wendy's burgers, "Where's the beef?" Five Guys is good too, but you can't eat that too much and keep your girlish figure. If we're out, I'm most likely have a burger at the local American Legion. They're not bad at all.

The beef is raised in a field. Then my ex Father-in-Law sends them to the butcher. He gets them back cut, ground, frozen, and distributes them to his 3 children. My exwife then packs a box and gives it to my daughters. My daughters come to my place and I put it in my freezer.

So I make my own hamburgers out of ground beef. Home made buns, home grown vegetables, the only thing store bought with my hamburgers is the flour and ingredients in baking the bun and ketchup/mustard/mayo condiments.
