Noooooo. I cannot have anything on my neck, I hate it. My Mom used to put turtlenecks on me, and I remember constantly tugging at it. I don't even like a scarf around my neck.

Most have a much more looser, stretchier neck. I think the exception to that is some old-style ones I recently bought from Land's End.
That’s interesting because I hate tight necks, yet my favorite true turtleneck is one from Land’s End I got as a gift (monogrammed with my initials). Loose neck and it’s very soft and comfortable. However, I’m guessing it’s at least 14-15 years old, so they must’ve changed them. Unfortunately, I’ve found that the quality of many LE items has gone down in recent years.

Well, they have various varieties of turtlenecks and this one was very basic underlayer. I don't believe it was one of the nicer pieces that was even monogrammable.

Turtlenecks are a no for me. Too restrictive for the girls. V-necks are my go-to and if I need additional warmth I will add a scarf.

Yuck, no. I don’t care, or really even notice, how other people dress but I started refusing to wear turtlenecks as soon as I was old enough to have a say in my wardrobe. They’re part of my trifecta of most despised clothing styles, the other two being 3/4 length sleeves and corduroy. (Is corduroy still around?) Those three things have always just been so uncomfortable and unflattering IMO.

Have not worn them since I was a kid. I don’t know if I could wear them now as I tend to get reactions ( a rash) on my neck with certain sweater materials.

Voted indifferent. I have a couple I wear as layers when it’s really cold and I will be outside for extended periods but I generally don’t like anything around my neck especially something tight.

I have a few. I only wear them as an undershirt during cold weather. I'm not particularly fond of them, as they don't seem to fit me well. My chin just sort of flows into my neck, so there's no sort of "corner" type of transition between my neck and under chin, so the turtleneck doesn't fit very snugly.

Nooo. I have to have scoop, boat, vneck shirts. If I wear button down then the top couple buttons are undone.

I probably haven't owned a turtleneck in 50 years. Too warm. And other than a couple of dress shirts, I don't own any long sleeved shirts either for the same reason.

I used to wear them in the late 60's with my at-the-time very fashionable Nehru jackets/sweaters. And sometimes with the requisite lanyard (we had a different name for that at the time, forget what it was).
Medallion?

Totally. I voted "Other" because "I don't like them" wasn't strong enough for how much I hate them. I'm a short person with a short neck and anything like that makes me look completely dumpy. I need an open neckline to elongate my torso. And hell would literally have to freeze over for it to get cold enough to make me wear a scarf. Those big, bulky blankets around the neck may be cozy but they look awful on absolutely everybody. :crazy2:

I have a few and wear them when it’s cold. Voted that I like them. I also like and have “mock” turtle necks.

A fan of mock turtle necks. Find the regular one too bulk around my neck . One of my regular tops in cold weather.

I’m sorry to hear about your short neck. There’s jewelry that can help with that.
