Other: I will use either equally. No criteria for what it's on, just what's available. If both are available, I'll probably use whipped cream.

We buy Cool Whip , easy to throw in the freezer and have. Once and awhile we but the canned whip cream if it’s on sale.

Someone asked about Dream Whip I do use that in a no bake cheese cake but nothing else. I remember my mom using it all the time. Recipes in magazines to mix it with chocolate pudding for dream pie.
Funny....I haven't hear the word Dream Whip is many, many years yet we always had it in the house growing up for some recipe my mother made. I bet it was a cheesecake. Nice memory.

Whipped cream in a can. We buy one can a year, to cover Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. I just checked, that stuff is good for another year!
But I grew up with Cool Whip.
My wife, given her choice, prefers to buy Heavy Cream and make it herself.

We rarely have whipped cream, but if we do, we like Land O'Lakes in a can, Costco sells it. We keep one can, give away the other two. A can lasts us like forever. I think Marie might use Cool Whip in some dessert recipes. She also likes the liquid heavy cream for her coffee. I drink black.

Always whipped cream. I only use Cool Whip in a vanilla pudding fruit dip.

I just never got into the habit of using either... as far as taste if somebody handed me something topped with it I probably couldn't tell the difference. If it comes to making it yourself, I would probably go with the can because it looks easier than scooping.

Not as a dessert topping but I have a pie recipe that calls for it that is an absolute crowd favorite. Again, I often use the store brand but the original Kraft kind is still readily availavble.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen store brand Dream Whip.

My mother used it as an ingredient in some dessert concoctions, but I personally never did.

OK, fess up. Who squirts whipped cream from the nozzle right into your mouth????

Prefer whipped cream, home made or the can, but will eat Cool Whip if it's all that is available and the dessert necessitates.

When I was young it was pre-cool whip. So I guess I still think of whipped cream, made fresh or canned, first. But I have had cool whip plenty of times, and not just in things in which it is an ingredient, and haven’t turned it down yet!
