We have one cat (age 16) and DS had a leopard gecko and a fishie.

My friend has a leopard gecko - he's pretty cool. It was actually my friend's grilfriend's (they just got married), and one winter she was out of town when a big storm hit and knocked out electricity for a lot of the city. We had to go rescue the little guy and get his enclosure and warming lamps to a house with power. Poor little guy was clinging to my buddy's neck for warmth as we drove him. He was okay though, and we got him resituated after the power came back.

We have an eleven year old yorkie named Rose (the first place she went to the bathroom was in my rose garden). She had cataracts so we had surgery and one eye didn't take so she had to have the needle in the eye to relieve the pressure and can't see out of that eye. The other one did well.

Late to this poll but we have a 6 year old Lab/Shepherd mix named Voodoo. We rescued her from a shelter almost exactly 6 years ago. There are a handful of large breeds that I would love to own, but after spending several years volunteering at a local animal shelter, I have a really hard time justifying anything but rescue. Voodoo came into our life after our previous rescue, Daisy, passed very suddenly due to a highly aggressive cancer that doesn't usually show symptoms until the very end.

3 dogs (yes, one to many!) 8 year old Great Dane, 4 year old Bull Terrier & 1 year old bulldog.
2 barn cats that declined to be named or socialize.
