After 5 cats, a horse, untold numbers of goldfish, and a hamster when our last cat passed away 11 years ago we decided as we approached retirement it was best to be pet less. We plan on traveling, and finding care for a pet is work. And to be honest the days of "stink face" after you come back are brutal. If there was a way I could make sure they UNDERSTOOD we were coming back, I would feel a whole lot better.

No pets as of right now. My beloved dog Freckles died in 2003, and then I was caring for my mom and then I moved here where my aunt is just not a 'pet' person or I'd have some sort of animal. I always thought I'd like to have a cat.

I have a few pets by proxy-my two nieces and nephew each have a dog and my youngest niece has a cat as well. In the summer I usually get called upon to sit for one or the other of those guys while the family goes on vacation.

I have two dogs -- a Yorkie and a Brussels Griffon. I would love to add a Chihuahua and a Maine Coon cat to our family, but both are very expensive in our area -- $3,000 and up. I would adopt from the shelter, but neither is ever available.

No pets now and won't be getting anymore. We had a pure bread beagle named Max (Mad Max from the Thunderdome) that passed away in 2011, Like @tvguy stated we are retired now and like to travel so trying to find care for a pet is not in the cards.

Late to the weekend party, but here's our cockapoo Roxie! She just turned 5 - we got her just as the quarantine started. In spite of everything, she's the best-adjusted dog we've had.
